The 318ti sports and clubsports came with luxury slats which easily break and most people replace with the plastic mesh found on M3's. The seller also states that the car came with the "M Package" wheels(which are replicas) and rocker panels(sideskirts) which are not Mtech, they're luxury package skirts. No 318ti's came with mtech twisty style skirts, not even clubsports. If they came with any skirts at all, they were luxury skirts. And finally, that particular car has had the nose panel replaced. The one pictured is an older style nose panel with recessed kidney grilles(chrome ebay ones no less). Nothing wrong with that, I swapped mine for an older style nose panel because I think they look better, but that could be an indication that it had front end damage at some point in it's life. When I look at an M3 the front bumper, it's either M-Technic (mesh) or Luxury (slats). Other than that, are you sure the rockers aren't the same? __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 03-13-2012, 01:54 AM | #8 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | Clubsport: 1) only 300 made 2) only available in 1995 3) only available in SchwarzII or Hellrot 4) only available with manual gearbox 5) only available with red millpoint sport interior 6) came with LSD 7) came with factory sport tuned suspension(slightly stiffer/shorter springs & thicker swaybars) 8) came with foglights 9) came with 16" style 18 5 spoke wheels 10) came with Mtech mirrors 11) came with Mtech moldings 12) came with Mtech front and rear bumpers 13) came with Luxury skirts and Luxury slats in the front bumper 14) came with 10 speaker sound system Last edited by cooljess76; 03-13-2012 at 02:11 AM. | | | 03-13-2012, 01:56 AM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2011 Location: Philly Posts: 605 | word. thought so on the manual part | | | 03-13-2012, 02:10 AM | #10 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | Quote: Originally Posted by 1996 328ti According to realoem, the side skirts/rockers are M Technic If you search http://www.realoem.com/bmw/partxref....51712234187%09, it's the same part used in an M3. ?? When I look at an M3 the front bumper, it's either M-Technic (mesh) or Luxury (slats). Other than that, are you sure the rockers aren't the same? | I'm sure. I understand that realoem calls them Mtech, but they're the same as the skirts that came on Luxury package M3's, 328's, 323's and 318's. Some (but not all) M3 sedans came with Luxury packages and got luxury skirts instead of twisties and lower grille luxury slats instead of mesh. Tim323ti added M3 twisties to his 323ti. Here's a pic showing how the twisty skirts have a "crease" that overlaps. FWIW, I sold my luxury skirts to member b-rad and I plan on using the twisty skirts off of my donor M3 Edit; Steven, the ones you linked are in fact Mtechnic Twisties. Those didn't come on any 318ti's, but realoem listed them because they are a compatible fit with the ti. There's two illustrations for the 318ti. One is labeled "door sill" which shows the standard "luxury" skirts that many 318ti's came with. The other is labeled "outer kick panel" and shows the Mtechnic "Twisty" skirts: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/partgrp.d...06&hg=51&fg=16 Last edited by cooljess76; 03-13-2012 at 07:39 AM. | | | 03-13-2012, 02:25 AM | #11 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | For comparison, here's Marko's ti with the standard sport package luxury skirts: notice there's no "crease" | | | 03-13-2012, 02:34 AM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: norcal - 94590 Posts: 3,186 | Here is yet another "Club Sport"... http://sacramento.craigslist.org/cto/2885892092.html wrong color, wrong interior, wrong everything... __________________ James 95 active w/leather interior and sport interior conversion, Vaders, full M-Tech exterior conversion.
