Hi Everyone!

I just joined and have a question for those who have had success installing the BMW CD changers.

I have a '98 Sport ti with the business/weatherband radio. My husband just bought me the BMW Alpine CD changer and mounting brackets for my birthday.

I can't seem to find where to install it in the hatch because there doesn't seem to be a "door" or compartment or anything. Do I need a new trunk liner or something, or is there some advice anyone can offer?

Thanks!

Didn't it come with installation instructions?

You need to remove the rear left light bulb cluster and peel back the carpet. You'll see the two sets of wires wire-tied back there.

You will need to cut a slit through the carpet for the bolts for the bracket.

Don't forget to set the side set screws on the CD changer.

If you need instuctions I might still have them.

Unfortunately there are only instructions for putting the brackets and changer together and nothing about where it should be mounted or what to do with the carpet.

Thanks for the info. At least now I know where to start!

My installation kit did not come with instructions... So I peeled back the carpet and found the wires, but can't figure out how to mount the bracket. It doesn't seem to be the right mounting plate for the car, but the box it came in has the right part numbers.

Does anyone still have instructions for installing the Alpine CD changer?

Thanks.
