You may run afoul of your local laws, and have a hard time seeing to back up! You can try the stained glass spray from a hobby or crafts store to make the white lens red.

I have testors candy apple red transparent paint already but I'm debating whether to go all red with red reverse lights or just letting them be. I dont know what would be a better look

Be sure to let us know what happens the next time you get stopped by the police, or have to back up at night. ;-)

considering that reverse lights are not mandated by law (at least not for inspection) I doubt that he will have a problem with the police about them. If he really wanted white, he could have laid down some thin stripes with tape before painting and then peeled them off to allow some white to escape

Isn't there some regulation about turn signals needing to be amber? That's the potential issue I was referring to when I mentioned the police.

FMVSS 108 doesn't explicitly specify that the front turn signals must be yellow. It does, however, give the minimum and maximum allowed candlepower for the various external lights, and only gives values for red and yellow turn signals.

Perhaps one or more of the 50 U.S. states has addressed this hole in these regulations.

there are plenty of cars with rear turn signals that are red, some of them don't even use a separate bulb for the brake light and the turn signal
