You need a screw driver and push a tab.
It helped me to use a bright flashlight.

There is a latch on the bracket which supports the foglight. This bracket has a release mechanism built in. Look for a tab as shown on this picture and push on it. After you get one of them out you can play with the bracket to see how it works. The second one will come out much easier.

Q: How many 318ti.org'ers does it take to screw in a fog light bulb?

A: At least 3, because here i am

I think I can connect the dots since I just did this last weekend mostly in the dark, which is not a bad time because the flashlight works better (seriously):

1. Look at the edge of the air intake next to the fog light, find the upper hole that angles toward the fog light.
2. take a medium length flat tip screw driver and insert into the hole about 1"-2" (3-5cm) keeping the blade roughly vertical
3. Find that V-shaped pocket on Dave's picture* and push gently but firmly
4. Fog light will magically pivot open revealing a tiny cave with Leprechauns and gremlins, take their gold but do not let them escape.
5. Backside of fog housing will have a plug on the wire, twist to remove.
6. once open release the wire spring clip and pull out wire+bulb
7. gently wiggle the old bulb off blade connector/socket
8. IMPORTANT: when installing new bulb do not touch with fingers, your skin oil shortens their life (or so I've heard). I keep the plastic bag on to install them.
9. Reassemble, repeat other side.

Hardest part is finding the release lever!

* Dave's photograph is upside down and shows the backside of the part but not sure how that translates to New Zealand because you're upside down from us anyways. In any case the photo is of your left fog light carrier.

Hope this helps!
