Default Maintenance Session Ideas

not sure what all you guys have done before or are interested in doing so i'll just start throwing out ideas ...

1) typical filters (oil, air, fuel, cabin) - lift would be nice for the fuel filter along with a well ventilated area

2) brake caliper rebuild
this could be over one or two sessions depending on how people wanted to do it. eg: session one: tear down, cleaning, paint; session two: reassembly vs one session where we we cover it all but if you wanted to paint them you'd likely be left to reassemble on your own.

3) valve cover gasket replacement (i need to do this, but sorta wanted to wait until i had a spare vehicle so i could take my time and clean things up while i was in there)

4) spark plug wires (good time is when you have the battery box out for the valve cover gasket replacement)

5) belts (serpentine and AC)

6) cat-back exhaust (if someone is going to replace theirs)

7) coolant flush / t-stat replacement

8) brake fluid flush (using pressure bleeder)

9) brake upgrade (can then do the brake fluid flush/change at the same time)

10) parking brake adjustment (cable replacement? those are fun!)

11) diff fluid change / manual trans fluid change

12) under hood light kit install

13) double brake light mod

14) mud flap install

15) m-tech side moulding install

16) auto-dimming rear view mirror install

17) side mirror replacement

18) steering fluid flush

add on with other ideas.

i haven't done all of these by any means, but am willing. be easier to document with more than one person there

13) double brake light mod
15) m-tech side moulding install

....i'd be up for these three whenever you are.

i don't have 'em yet cause they aren't cheap that and i was working on buying kits that were more likely to run out of stock (eg: i got one of the last heated seat retrofit kits in the world). where did you source your kit dave and what did you pay?

i know werner had some issues with the moulding on the passenger side so he might want to see that too.

double brake light mod is pretty easy too. can use mine as templates as i've already done it. depending on how many want to do it, i might have enough crimp-on eyelets and such. you'd have to supply the bulbs though

I have pictures from a window regulator replacement somewhere, just never got around to a writeup.

Front doorpanel removal is part of my gallery. Just needs to be set into a kb article.

i've done about 10 window regulator replacements.
some VW
one 4 runner
three audi A4's
5 330xi driver side windows
and both of my 318ti windows

I'm well versed in this fix....just ask what you will
