Default temp gauge.

1997 ti
i just installed a new temp sensor and the needle for the temp gauge goes up then goes back down. any ideas?

That's kind of vague. Mine goes up when my car is running and down when it's not running.

Can you be more specific?

lol sryy bro. Kinda stressed.
uhmmm when I drive it for 15-20 mins its still at the 1/4 mark and when it rises it goes back down even when the car is still running...

So it never goes over the halfway mark but when you are driving it moves around between 1/4 and 1/2 way?

If so, I would replace the thermostat as it may be stuck open and causing the engine to run cool.

yes then the needle drops from the 1/2 way mark. I checked the engine, it gets hot!!! lol.
