Question ECU and FI

Hello guys, looking for some help with my 318is 1997.

I want to build a simple, low boost, clean turbo setup for my car, but im having trouble regarding one topic: What to do about the original ECU? Can i keep it? Do i need any aftermarket chip or tune? For any amount of boost?

I live in Brazil, and finding parts is hard for us here, so, I want to keep it as simple as possible.

Thanks.
