I don't enjoy that factor either.. but its not as bad when in person the camera couldn't catch the deeper idle and low rpm drone.. | | | 03-20-2009, 09:15 PM | #122 | That's not Millpoint Blue Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: BNA Posts: 3,161 | Just got my RDSport cat-back installed today. (also swapped my Midas cat. with a used OEM one) It sounds a LOT better than the crap it replaced, and is even a little quieter than the old crap. Now I just have to worry about my mechanic swapping it for his the next time I leave the car with him for any length of time. ;-) __________________ Real men know how to SEARCH! I used this at the joint between the front and back pipe: http://www.permatex.com/products/Aut...ipe_Sealer.htm Has anyone ever used this stuff before? I was watch a show called Wheeler Dealers and the guy put his exhaust on and used comething like this. A lightbulb went off in my head! So I bought that stuff and it works! Sounds even better! | | | 05-04-2009, 04:18 AM | #124 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | hate to burst your bubble but that's just a temporary fix the shop I work at only uses it if the customer doesn't have any money | | | 05-04-2009, 12:35 PM | #125 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: Oxford, Ohio Posts: 868 | When I first saw it I thought that might be the case. Bnd the people I have spoken to say its an assembly paste... not a patch. Wurth makes a similar product. Look it up, lot's of people swaer by it. I'll let you know how it goes, though. | | | 05-05-2009, 12:55 AM | #126 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | hm, it might be a different product then what I've seen then | | | 05-08-2009, 06:02 PM | #127 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2006 Location: SOUTH Jersey Posts: 1,085 | sorry to bring this back.. on the topic of ansa... I used their systems on my fiat's for years. I had one one three seperate cars as the cars rotted away and the exhaust didn't. I also got my supersprint for the ti now.. I was surprised by the weight of it. Thing is heavy compared to anything ansa makes | | | 08-12-2009, 12:09 AM | #128 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2008 Location: Rensselaer, NY Posts: 254 | So I woke up this morning to find my muffler hanging a lot lower than it should have been. Turns out the rear muffler hanging had torn, dropping the muffler. I ordered both the front and rear hangers, to replace them but when I started the car up, the exhaust sounded pretty raspy leading me to believe I have hole. My question to you guys is, has anybody tried the Apexcone exhaust from DDM tuning? I think Pauly said he ordered one, did you ever get it? How does it sound? Also, has anybody tried the Ansa Sport exhaust from Bavauto? Is that loud? I'm pretty sure I'm going to need a replacement muffler and I don't want to spend more than $400. Preferably a lot less than that. I don't care about performance gains, I just want it to be as quiet as possible. Anybody have any suggestions for me? __________________ | | | 08-12-2009, 12:52 AM | #129 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2008 Location: Central Florida Posts: 678 | Quote: Originally Posted by DaedHead8 So I woke up this morning to find my muffler hanging a lot lower than it should have been. It's aluminized steel though so being in NY you will have issues with rust eventually. Mine lasted at least 3 years with no severe rust in NJ though, and we salt heavily. | | | 08-13-2009, 03:38 AM | #133 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2009 Location: tampa,fl Posts: 106 | Quote: Originally Posted by yoda The stromung would have to be modified (cut and welded) to fit, in other words, you will end up having to do a custom exhaust for the swap any way you look at it. | ok thanks for the info | | | 08-13-2009, 04:06 AM | #134 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: Portland Or Posts: 2,666 | I have dyno'd Ansa exhausts on multiple cars, Porsche 911, MGB, Fiat Spyder, VW Rabbit. The ansa ALWAYS cost 5 to 10 % in HP across the run over the stock exhaust. They are HEAVY. No two are Alike. Just my experience.... Mine was at least 15 lbs lighter than the stock exhaust. | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
