My New 95Ti

Ok as you can see I'm new to the forum. I(Tejon) bought my girl(Sarah) a 95Ti wh/blk with 170k. I picked it up for a steal $1,550 but now up to around 4k after a month. I'm getting frustrated because i picked it up knowing it needed SOME work. Car needed interior bad also bad suspenion, timing chain noise, then found out brakes bad, pass window off track, dr. door doesn't unlock with key, steering column stays locked,Exhaust leak, rear antenna broke,keyless alarm doesn't work, then today she drove it and wipers stopped working. She had to turn car off and back on again

How many more problems do these cars have???

So far New:
Timing chain,tensioner,guides
Belt tensioner,belts
New suspension including lower control arms
Wheels and tires
Rotors and pads
Fixed window track problem
Fixed interior
Fixed column locking problem
New antenna
At least everything now is new haha

Window regulators...those get replaced on a regular basis...hahahaha...

welcome, sounds like you picked up sort of a project car, good luck getting it running and looking how it should, I'd keep an eye on a lot of the cooling system parts, especially the plastic connectors

x2 on the cooling system, that is the most common and annoying failure in BMWs. Welcome to the .org!

Car drives and stops awesome now, just kind of noisy before with the timing chain and squeaky brakes. It runs very strong now doesn't burn oil at all. I can tell though it leaks a little think oil pan gasket. Also on recent long trip check engine light came on its #2 knock sensor. What and where is this sensor also what could that mean? Bad sensor? Car seems to drive fine and doesn't make any noises. Also check engine light only comes on when on a steady cruise once I lift the pedal it goes away till I'm cruising again?

I thought my oil pan was leaking too when i got my car. after closer inspection i noticed it's actually my front seal at the crank. Take a peek at the front side of the motor with it up on a lift if you can (or jack it up and take a look) just to make 100% sure, because from what i read the oil pan is some work to replace. the crank seal LOOKS like its fairly simple.

My pass window is off track as well, welcome to the ti life, feel free to change that starter soon as well haha. . .. just kidding, for now.
