Default M44 rebuild kit

Hey family. I have a 96 Ti. Nearly 145k on the dash and still runs great. I have no plans of selling so I am going to rebuild the engine when need arises. Or should I say, I will have it rebuilt. I don't do that type of work. Not trained. My question is to the mechanics. What all would I need for a full rebuild kit?

Just wanna rebuild to stock spec. No boosting plans or anything like that. Just original BMW ride...

As long as the engine has been maintained well, I don't know that you need to rebuild it at 145k. Do a compression check on the cylinders and verify they're within spec. Maybe rebuild the coolant system and change any leaking gaskets. Otherwise, these BMW engines stay pretty tight.

Oh no plans to rebuild now. She runs great. This is all for when the day comes. I just pretty much wanna know what all is needed in a kit in the first place.

You can get around 400K miles if oil is changed on time and cooling system rebuild around 200K. Over heating the motor is the big reason these motors get damaged. With fresh oil they just don't wear out and run for long periods with minor issues along the way.
