Question If I were to offer a strut brace?

If you could buy a Front strut and rear shock tower brace for 275 bucks
for the set. But it was a very plain setup would it sell?

I am REALLY frustrated witht he overpriceing of BMW accessories
in this area. If I put together a setup that performed with minimum
cosmetics (Plain Aluminum) would it have a demand?

Just thinking...

I'll post a sample picture when I get mine done...

Dave

if you made a product similar to the strong-strut butt strut for much less than they're selling it i can pretty much guarantee you'd have at least 5 buyers from this forum, if not more. (this assumes that it's not patented, or that you can design around the patent).

the other issue is using aluminum. what grade of alloy? pure aluminum is a pretty terrible choice since it cracks easily and is too soft for this application. also, how is it manufactured? CNC would make sense, cold forging might as well, cast would be terrible.

just trying to get you through the thinking process, because i think this is a pretty good idea.

I agree. Things are way overpriced for BMWs. There would be a demand for something like that as long as it performed well.

m44ic; you may want to add a few crossbars. doesn't seem like it would reduce torsion very much.

pretty cool though.
