Owes me $75 for a steering wheel in near mint condition and an airbag. Bought from him off ebay, he also sells items here. He's been on at least a half dozen times, and gotten a few emails and PM's. I'm done trying to contact him, and have filed the paypal chargeback for item not received. One of his FS threads below. I believe I've given him enough of a chance to at least contact me, but nothing.

Next thing I'm going to do is reverse trace his phone number, get his address and employer (profile says he's a teacher?) and start making phone calls.

I am sure everyone here will help you find him. Also put up a link on bimmerforums linking to this thread. When Jeff318 tried to stiff me they were very helpful in tracking him down.

The amount of info online is an amazing and scary thing. Good luck tracking him down. FWIW Paypal might take a little bit of time but the tend to be pretty fair and will almost certainly give you your money back if you can show that you never received anything.
p.s. since we're both in Atlanta I can be your getaway driver once you track him down.

I have dealt with similar issues before and there is a sticky thread in the FS section to prove it. Unless he has stiffed many people for lots more money I suggest you approach this calmly. It's 75 bucks and you have a legit pay pal dispute. More often than not sh!t happens in people's lives and he may have gotten too busy to complete the deal. If he's pissed cuz it sold for $50, that's different. I am no friend of roman escobar's, just someone with perspective.

Yeah, it's only $75, but I've delt with this kind of crap before. I didn't pay for 2 days and got 3 emails asking for payment, will ship right away, same day payment recieved....and then nothing. I was just waiting till some funds cleared into my account. Then nothing.... Looking at the last time he sold something on ebay....he stiffed that person to.

Just an update:

Romanescobar contacted me a few days ago, said he has had some family issues, and would send me out the wheel free of charge and refund my money. I told him that would be great, but I insisted on paying for the shipping at a minimum.

Next day he emailed me and said I needed to cancel the PP claim so he could ship the item to me (needed the money from his PP account). Hmmm....I said, how about you just refund me through the claim, and I'll re-send you $25 for shipping if thats what you wanted to do. Said that would be fine.....that was 2-3 days ago and nothing else.

To me, the guy tried a weak attempt at getting me to drop the claim (once dropped you can't re-open it). Too bad for him I wasn't born last night.

Thats how I'm taking it at this point. Should he actually come through, I'll post that up....but I'm not holding my breath.

Paypal refunds my money, but it's "pending". I'm assuming that means there is no $$ in his account for the refund, and they are waiting for him to replenish his account.....fat chance I'll see any $$.

He did say the wheel was shipped today........

FYI, paypal refunded my money on July 21st. Paypal was the one who forced the refund to my account

Romanescobar seemss to still up to his old tricks. Said the wheel was sent out the same day UPS, and to let me know when it arrived. As I agreed with him earlier, I would at least pay for the shipping of the wheel (accepted his goodwill offer).

As of today, 7 business days later, no wheel has shown up.

I'd consider this issue closed. Romanescobar has proven himself a liar several times over. No apology, explanation, or otherwise from him...just no response.
Had PP not refunded my monies, I'd have pursued personal collection from him aggressively. Since PP actually took care of me on this one, I'm done.

He has an active thread going on this forum right now. I'm suprised he hasn't even acknowledged this thread that is dedicated to him. I'm sure he's stumbled across this thread by now, it seems like he's ignoring the issue as long as the site will let him get away with it. You'd think he would atleast grow a pair and step up to the plate to defend himself or atleast explain his side of the story. There's a lot of shady people out there.
