Default Opinions Please

I've been thinking bout getting the center of my wheels painted Black and leaving the edge original. Like below.

What's everyone's opinion?
I think its quite cool looking. This will only be a temporary measure till I buy some new alloys in the summer.

A buddy of mine did that with his 944 wheels. Actually, he was restoring them but the same principle applies.

You have to use something to remove the clearcoat before you apply the black, my friend used an aircraft paint remover. Use gloves and a respirator if you go this route.

Then he polished the lip using a scotchguard pad, then wet sandpaper. Had the car jacked up with it idling to save elbow grease--not really smart, but we were all around when he was doing this.

Then taped it off, and painted it. Came out real nice.

I think that looks really good - I'd say go for it.

I've got a place here in my home town that re-furbish wheels and can do the wheels how I want them. Should only cost about £120 for all 4.

Watch this space!
