It's an E36 right? I've read some places that E36 stopped at 98, and went on to E46? Is that complete BS? Just a quick question requiring a one post answer. | | | 10-19-2007, 08:40 AM | #2 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | 1999 was the last year they were sold in the US IIRC. They did sell a 2000 e36 318ti in Europe however and shortly after that the e46's came out. __________________ 4 MORE YEARS BABY!!! | | | 10-19-2007, 12:10 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: state college, pa Posts: 3,431 | The E46 ti didn't come out until 2001 (model year), and only outside of the US. Any ti you're looking at in the US is an E36/5. If you look at the door tag, it will tell you the production month/year. __________________ I scream, you scream, we all scream for ZOMBIES. | | | 10-19-2007, 10:48 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: maritimes Posts: 1,433 | i guess technically the E36 era did stop in 1998, as the 1999's had a newer body style... but it seems the E36 look stuck for the 318TI's and for the convertibles ... which is definitly wierd and i have no good explanation for that, nor have i heard of one. __________________ 11/97 Base 328Ti | | | 10-20-2007, 01:11 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2007 Location: Seattle, WA Posts: 402 | In 1999, the 323is and 328is (coupe and cabrio) and M3 (sedan, coupe and cabrio) were e36s, and the 328i and 323i sedans were e46. Model year 2000 introduced the e46 coupes, and temporarily halted M3 production until 2001. So, there were quite a few other e36's in 1999 than the 318ti. __________________ 1997 332ti - Don't even ask. 2006 330i - ZPP/ZSP/ZCW/6sp/Nav/BT/H&R Sport 2011 E92 M3 | | | 10-20-2007, 01:25 AM | #6 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | Also, I think member "oakley" has a 2000 Dakar Yellow e36 318ti __________________ 4 MORE YEARS BABY!!! | | | 10-22-2007, 08:11 PM | #7 | Member Join Date: Aug 2007 Location: The Woodlands, TX Posts: 68 | Quote: Originally Posted by larryn and M3 (sedan, coupe and cabrio) were e36s, | Only 2-door and vert were offered in '99. And a very nice one to say the least. Although I'm not particularly attracted to the e46 318ti's, I wonder why nobody has ever registered one on this site E36 TI > ALL __________________ 4 MORE YEARS BABY!!! | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
