HID i finally decided to go with HIDs but now i cant make up my mind on which color temp to go with these are my choices 1)4500k 2)6000k(same as my rings) 3)8000k i dont care about rules and laws ill take a fixing ticket i dont care at all but i want the BEST light output possible i know all HID kits are strong but i dont really care about how it looks just because no matter what HIDs are bad ass i just want the best kit to make visibility improved the most. ive heard the best is 4300-4500k or OEM HID because its the easiest on the eyes and the broadest color range when the light bends anyways pics of yours with the K would be much appreciated!!!! __________________ Live Everyday As If Its Your Last A friend is someone who is willing to step into a flame to save you........aka a 318ti | | | 12-09-2007, 07:08 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: Land of the Vikings Posts: 2,700 | in pic 1 i have 6500 which gives a pic 2 is 8000k, and i prefer the tone personally. which is more a __________________ Vin Number decode and Retrofit Pdfs Available Free ! It gives you extremely good light, but I think 5000k has the most light/distance output. I'd say the 6000k, because it gives you the OEM sort color. | | | 12-09-2007, 09:59 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2006 Location: 43609 Posts: 3,425 | 4300 is the best light output. __________________ 1995 Hellrot Clubsport 318ti -Gone 1996 Schwartz II Sport 357ti - 5.7L V8 LS1/6 1997 Moregrun Metallic 318ti - Gone 1998 Schwartz II sport 318ti - M50TUB25/5 | | | 12-09-2007, 10:26 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Auburn, WA Posts: 1,814 | yeah 4300k is the best light output but u can get 5000k in 50w and is going to be crazy __________________ 5/96 318TI Sport BIG TURBO | | | 12-09-2007, 10:29 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Auburn, WA Posts: 1,814 | __________________ 5/96 318TI Sport BIG TURBO | | | 12-09-2007, 10:35 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Auburn, WA Posts: 1,814 | first pic 3500k 35w second pic 14000k 35w __________________ 5/96 318TI Sport BIG TURBO | | | 12-10-2007, 01:15 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2006 Location: G-dale, California Posts: 1,698 | thanks for all the pics guys!! BUT i still cant make up my mind! if it was a cheap mod like normal H1 bulbs i wouldnt care(ive gone through 5 sets of em) hids are more permanent so i want the best output. i dont think i want over 6000k but now im debating over 4500k, 5000k, and 6000k which will make the darkest of streets the most illuminated? __________________ Live Everyday As If Its Your Last A friend is someone who is willing to step into a flame to save you........aka a 318ti | | | 12-10-2007, 01:43 AM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2006 Location: 43609 Posts: 3,425 | 4300k is pure white with the brightest output. The higher the K, the less light you have in comparison to the numbers leading up to 4300k. Going under 4300K turns into yellow, 3000k being pure yellow. __________________ 1995 Hellrot Clubsport 318ti -Gone 1996 Schwartz II Sport 357ti - 5.7L V8 LS1/6 1997 Moregrun Metallic 318ti - Gone 1998 Schwartz II sport 318ti - M50TUB25/5 | | | 12-10-2007, 01:44 AM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: Detroit, MI Posts: 585 | Quote: Originally Posted by Jean H.318TI | This light chart isn't quite where it should be. 5000k is more blue/white 6000k is purple/white and 6000k < is purple. Maybe the color on the road, but I have 6000k and if I flash my high beams, the high beam doesn't make it past where my HID light stops. Its sort of your decision on color. I think most people go for 6000k because it looks more OEM | | | 12-10-2007, 02:46 AM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2006 Location: G-dale, California Posts: 1,698 | thanks for the info adamund...i think im going to go with 6000k best bet and i kind of life the purple hue any one have pics of 4500k tho? and i know about the yellow i have 3000k on my fogs... __________________ Live Everyday As If Its Your Last A friend is someone who is willing to step into a flame to save you........aka a 318ti | | | 12-10-2007, 03:05 AM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2006 Location: G-dale, California Posts: 1,698 | so i want to get one of these 2 kits http://www.ddmtuning.com/hidkihidbuhi.html which do you guys recommend? the price difference is only $10 but the DDM's ballast size is nice __________________ Live Everyday As If Its Your Last A friend is someone who is willing to step into a flame to save you........aka a 318ti | | | 12-10-2007, 04:14 AM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: Detroit, MI Posts: 585 | I'm not sure if the brand will matter. The DDM has the slimmer ballast which is nice, but not necessary. I have two big ones; one on the washer fluid tank and the other on the shock tower. But definitely go for the lifetime warranty which ever one you purchase. | | | 12-10-2007, 04:26 AM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2006 Location: G-dale, California Posts: 1,698 | i still cant make up my mind tho lol its either 4500 or 6000 i like the 45 because its the brightest light output i like the 60 because of the color output someone make my mind up for me __________________ Live Everyday As If Its Your Last A friend is someone who is willing to step into a flame to save you........aka a 318ti | | | 12-10-2007, 04:45 AM | #15 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: Detroit, MI Posts: 585 | Quote: Originally Posted by M3_KILL3R i like the 45 because its the brightest light output i like the 60 because of the color output someone make my mind up for me | I honestly am not sure if you could tell the difference in the light output from the 4500 and the 6000. I'm trying to find the lumens charts. I found one that said 5000k gave off 3000 lumens and 6000 gave off 2900 lumens. If you like the color then go with 6000k because I'm not sure if you could tell the difference. Still working on finding a lumens chart | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
