Default DSC hose replacement with non DSC hose

All,
I have a few nagging issues with my Ti that if I can fix will make it just even more awesome.

I replaced my Traction Control hose with a simpler Non Traction Control hose, did away with the ASC throttle body, now my final step is to get the Traction Control light off (I mean who ever needed ASC on a 100HP car anyway).

I have tried running it with the Traction Control TPS plugged in to the now vacant plug, ASC TPS removed neither helps.
Does anyone know a trick to getting the the Traction light out if you have elicited the Throttle Body?

Thanks
jimmy p

I never bothered to do anything to get the traction light to turn off. I always assumed that I could wire the appropriate resistor in to the plug if I needed to.

Maybe when the TPS was disconnected the little part that moves with the throttle plate got put in an orientation that is saying the plate is closed when it isn't. This could be confusing the system because the car isn't activating the air cut-out but the TPS is saying otherwise.

Maybe you could orient the sensor back to "open" and glue it in place to keep the light off?

Exactly what I was thinking on all counts, I was kind of hoping for a "fix" that was known (ex, put a 35 ohm resister between pins 1 & 2 and its done kind of thing).

I appreciate your reply, once the snow clears a bit more here in the northeast I am going to try to track that annoyance down and fix it.
I am betting its your last suggestion, the orientation of the secondary TPS, get that right and glue it.

Yeah, thats a possibility.
It just seems like cheating, I always try to figure out the "why" first before the easy way out...

I still have mine in a box out in the garage, I'll measure the resistance when the plate is open if you want to try a resistor before messing with the TPS.

Okay, look at the side of the TPS that has the BMW logo and p/n, the pins should be at the top. Left to right are pins 1, 2, & 3.

1 & 3 - 4.26k ohm constant
1 & 2 - 4.8k ohm open, 1.94k ohm closed
2 & 3 - 1.42k ohm open, 3.99k ohm closed
