Hey, everyone. I recently completed the install of the LTW front splitter.

BOY, what a pain-in-the-ass that was.

It took me TWO days to do it. There were no instructions in the kit (not even German), and I had to rely on some poor photos from a web posting on replacing broken LTW parts...

Anyway, it's pretty cool. Three positions: all the way in, flush with the leading edge of the bumper cover, about two inches exposed, and about four inches exposed (ankle-killer position...)

I will post some photos of the finished product as soon as possible.

First, you have to add the regular M3's 'cosmetic' splitter to the bottom of the bumper cover (if you have not already done this). The correct plastic mounting inserts are a major pain to install.

Then you add a set of 'filler' pieces on either end of the bumper cover- the LTW splitter is high in the center, but lower on the outside edges. These filler pieces alone are pretty cool, and they use the existing mounting holes of the 'cosmetic' splitter. I have part numbers for them if anyone is interested...

Then the splitter mounts onto brackets that go right into the front bumper for support- this is not a 'show' piece, it creates real down-force on the front of the car.

You must cut some huge pieces out from under the bumper cover for the bracketry. The center cut-out piece is about the size of a liscence plate.

If your car is lowered, don't get this. It reduces the front space about 2 inches, and the approach angle is seriously reduced when the splitter is fully extended. I will post some data on this once I calculate it.

The splitter is factory, and was complete with the aluminum air deflector which is sometimes extra cost...

I found another supplier for the parts. I got it complete for 'only' $950.00.

The shipping was a bit high, as the box is about five feet long, two feet high and a foot wide...

If anyone is interested, I can post the guy's address here next week (i'm on the road at the moment). Most everyone else is well over a grand for the kit...

Hi guys.

I FINALLY posted some photos of the splitter install. It's not complete, but the major points were covered.

Any questions, just ask.

(photos are in my personal gallery)
