My air bag light ignited some days ago. I decided to try the MaxiDiag EU702 scanner/reset tool.
Hooked it up and the display on the EU702 scanner told me "
Code 05 - Firing curcuit belt tensioner driver side".
Found the BMW TIS for Code 05 on the net:

The fault was quite clear (as correctly predicted by the EU702 scanner). Fixed the wires and reset the air bag light via the scanner. No more air bag light now...
