Buy a house, it dropped my payments by almost $40/month. __________________ '99 Dinan M3 | | | 03-19-2005, 01:00 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | So much depends where you live. I actually have no idea... should probably look into that. On my caddy (92 El Dorado), on an NY Policy with Traveler's Insurance, I was paying $4500 a year! Now that I'm contracted with Navy ROTC, I insure my 97 318ti through USAA, and I pay around 1500 a year... I don't even wanna think what it would have been if I hadn't gone through USAA... EDIT: By the way, both of those rates are with NO accidents or traffic violations on record. EDIT2: Oh yea, I'm 19 __________________ --------------------------------------- '97 Hellrot 318ti - Active, 5 speed 17'' BMW Motorsport Wheels ACS-"Style" (E-Bay, haha) Racing Pedals M Frontspoiler (OEM) Alpine CDA 9827 MP3/CD Head Unit Alpine E12 Subwoofer (now stolen) Audiobahn A4002T Amp (also now stolen) Dented driver side fender (provided courtesy of blind 80 year old woman) Keyed passenger door (provided by someone who likes to key red cars) Soon to come (now that I've graduated and have a real job) S52 Engine Swap!!! I'm 34, married and own my home (my home owners insurance is also with State Farm), so my premiums are pretty good. As far as coverage of mods, I once asked my agent and was told that so long as I have the receipt and mileage in which they were installed, they will cover it. But I don't believe that's true for every insurance agency and policy. __________________ moku 1996 318ti Cali Top w/ Downing/Atlanta Supercharger 2003 M3 w/ CSL trunk, splitters, & diffuser | | | 03-23-2005, 11:31 PM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2005 Location: Essex UK Posts: 164 | Quote: Originally Posted by moku As far as coverage of mods, I once asked my agent and was told that so long as I have the receipt and mileage in which they were installed, they will cover it. I mean, you take 1500 a year (my rate), and put it in a goddamn bank account, I guarantee you you'll be able to pay off any collission you get into. I hate insurance. __________________ --------------------------------------- '97 Hellrot 318ti - Active, 5 speed 17'' BMW Motorsport Wheels ACS-"Style" (E-Bay, haha) Racing Pedals M Frontspoiler (OEM) Alpine CDA 9827 MP3/CD Head Unit Alpine E12 Subwoofer (now stolen) Audiobahn A4002T Amp (also now stolen) Dented driver side fender (provided courtesy of blind 80 year old woman) Keyed passenger door (provided by someone who likes to key red cars) Soon to come (now that I've graduated and have a real job) S52 Engine Swap!!!
