Get ripped off if you want, but the 419 scam has been around since the late '80s. I've experienced this crap when trying to sell bikes. If you still feel like you're getting a deal, go ahead. Just don't say we didn't warn you. Also, FYI this is a good entry-point for identity theft. I have professors that report to Congress regarding information security and they say this is part of the problem. __________________ I scream, you scream, we all scream for ZOMBIES. | | | 01-25-2006, 11:52 AM | #18 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2005 Location: çî†ÿ øf åNgëL§, CA Posts: 5,314 | [QUOTE=aceyx]My....QUOTE] Lol i aint going to buy it, you swear. This guy lives like 300 miles away. I wouldnt trust buying a car from a distance without having my dad take a look at it. Plus i would have to sell my car to get it. I aint ready for that yet. what is "419" scam? | | | 01-25-2006, 01:46 PM | #19 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2005 Location: çî†ÿ øf åNgëL§, CA Posts: 5,314 | heres the pics he sent me. He even took pic of the vin. I think he might be serious, idk? Ima ask for his phone number so that i can talk to him in direct, then well see if he gives me his number. anyone with carfax subscription can do me a favor and check this vin for me?? thx. this is email if any of you wanna try, michaelastrol@inbox.com Last edited by HuGo; 12-08-2009 at 11:21 AM. | | | 01-25-2006, 02:03 PM | #20 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | Doing a google search your find mixed reviews. I can't believe you even emailed the guy, now he has your email address. Come on dude, use some common sense here. If it's too good to be true it is. This is based on the same theory that info-mercials use....THERE'S A SUCKER BORN EVERY MINUTE! Of course it's too good to be true, but someone out there will fall for it.... I won't give this guy any more of your information. He already has your email address. Do you realize how much information a person can get about you with just your email address? __________________ '99 Dinan M3 | | | 01-25-2006, 02:17 PM | #23 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2005 Location: England, UK Posts: 1,288 | everything u have associated to that email addy in any way is now at risk muppet! __________________ 1995 BMW 316i Cosmos Black Mods: • Magnex Cat-Back Exhaust • Smoked Corner Lights + Repeators • M3 17" Wheels • De-Baffled Air Box • AC HandBrake Handle and Gear Knob • DEPO Euro Epsiloids + Predator Chronium Rings • Chrome Interior bits •IE Poly-Urethane RSFMs • Kenwood Power Series Audio • Powder Coated e36 325 Front Callipers • Sports Seats | | | 01-25-2006, 02:18 PM | #24 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2005 Location: çî†ÿ øf åNgëL§, CA Posts: 5,314 | Quote: Originally Posted by DustenT OMG - I can't believe you are serious about this.
