Default Thoughts about my ti

Hey all, I have to again, thank the organizers of this site as it's been my go-to site for almost a decade on all things ti. I have owned my car that long. A 96 ti, silver/gray 5sp with 331K It really breaks my heart, but I will have to sell it.

I've got too many cars and the ti just doesn't get driven anymore. Since I will be leaving your ranks before long, I'd like to give back a little:
  • 1. These cars are worth nothing now. That will change someday. They're amazing cars that fill a unique role. They're getting crushed at a good clip now and becoming somewhat rare. Hang in there, the values will go up. They'll never be exotic by any stretch of the imagination because BMW intentionally designed them to be utilitarian and affordable.
  • 2. With the value so low, it's easy to treat it like a throw-away car, cut corners, etc. Don't fall for that trap. Treat your ti like gold. Do your best work on them. Take your time. Treat it like a vintage Ferrari even though it's not one. They're amazing cars.
  • 3. They will last forever. With a timeless design, fun to drive dynamics and great engineering, they'll take care of you as well as you take care of it.
I have 331K on mine and it runs perfectly.

I'm seriously debating whether to sell my E90 and keep the ti....

Fair advice.

330K is exceptional. I'd say you got your worth out of that machine!

That said, sell the E90. Keep your thrills dirt cheap!

That's definitely some milestone mileage. Drop the E90, they are a dime a dozen...
