Default Knock Sensor Wiring...

After completing my coolant system replacement the check engine light came on. Code P0330, Knock Sensor Ckt 2. So, I pulled the car apart and pulled the knock sensors off. I pulled the rubber boot off the connector and found the insulation had fallen off the wires and they had shorted.. I cut the outer insulation off, put some glue on the remaining inner insulation, and then put heat shrink tubing on all of the bare wire. I'm hoping the fix will work. Even the spare sensors I have are the same way. I hope the rest of the wiring isn't as bad as this thing.
