Just a bit of nonsense, but the other day I was driving home from work and it suddenly dawned on me that I see loads of BMW's on the road and dont think anything of it... so the next day I decided to count how many I actually saw. The 5.5miles between my office and home, I counted 27!! That was not including mine! Thats all BMW's, all models new and old. The majority were newer 3 series, 5 series, 2 other 318ti's and a couple of M3's (NICE). I was just wondering if anyone had ever taken any notice of how many BMW's are on the road? I must say i was quite shocked to count 27 in 5.5 miles! Oh and 1 ferrari... but that doesnt count.. not as classy as a Bimmer! | | | 03-02-2006, 09:17 PM | #2 | TRETEN IRGENDEINES ESELS Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Rhode Island Posts: 3,687 | I see about 60 bmw's a day. This was the most comprehensive cross section of bmws I'd ever seen in a row on the road. I'd guess there were 30 or more of them, from classics to new. There was even e30 m3's in there, old 6's too. I was in my e28 m5 and most of the people in the cars were staring at me just like I was staring at them. My only guess was that it was a group from the bmw plant going on a trip or something, regardless who they were, it was real fun to see. Also almost daily I meet a maroon 325i on the road and when I'm in my white ti he stares, more people stare at the m5 though. | | | 03-03-2006, 12:06 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2005 Location: Virginia Posts: 247 | I see a good 50 per day I would say, I see at least one other 318ti per week. I almost never see M3's though, for some reason there are more 318tis in my town. __________________ Silver 98 318ti Standard trans, Sport Package: 16" Stock Wheels, Foglamps, Sunroof, Heated Leather Seats, Bilstein performance shocks, OEM Sach's clutch kit, Dunlop SP Sport A2 225/50/16 tires, Alpine CDA 7894, Dual Rockford Fosgate 12" subs, Rockford Fosgate Amp, Leather Armrest, Replaced M44 engine with only 40k on it! http://www.geocities.com/evalha/bmwsmaller.JPG | | | 03-08-2006, 07:19 PM | #5 | Junior Member Join Date: Jul 2005 Location: Columbus, Ohio Posts: 26 | I see them all the time now. I thought I would be special when I purchased my ti 2 years ago. I notice loads of them here in Columbus. We seem to have a very eclectic mix of cars. | | | 03-08-2006, 07:22 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2005 Location: Quad Cities, Iowa Posts: 2,110 | I live in Iowa so its in the range of 0-3 per day. Ive never seen another ti anywhere except for in pics but I do know that there are two white ones here. If I feel like seeing other bimmers then I go down to the BMW dealership. __________________ "Drive Fast and Take Chances" | | | 03-08-2006, 10:07 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2006 Location: Cincinnati Posts: 890 | There aren't a whole lot of Bimmers running around Cincinnati, unless your on the east side, then they're everywhere. I'd say <10 on a daily basis. Definitely no TIs. __________________ SOLD!!! 1999 332ti //M Sport Titanium Silver M3 S52 3.2 I-6 Engine, M3 Clutch w/ ti Getrag Trans, Z3 3.15 LSD medium case diff and half shafts, OEM Hatch Spoiler, Eurosport HP Underdrive Pulleys, FDM, 17" DS1 rims, M3 Front Struts & Springs, M3 Instrument Cluster, 3-spoke //M steering wheel with tri-color stitching, SSK, CCFL Angels in Depo projectors with 5k HIDs | | | 03-08-2006, 11:09 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2004 Location: Port St. Johns, Florida Posts: 2,242 | well I start with 2 in the garage. | | | 03-09-2006, 03:21 AM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2005 Location: Puerto Rico Posts: 885 | I drive only 3 miles to my work in Puerto Rico, but in the way is a Music Center and a Pep Boys, so I count about 10 with mine and my boss __________________ BMW...MY NEW TOY Mods: Some plastic parts, ///M Wheels and me | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
