Staples work pretty well if you don't get sloppy and use too many. Headliner glue works only for small areas. I had good luck using flat grey primer in a rattle can in small amounts where bits of the headliner itself were exposed. | | | 01-27-2012, 06:03 AM | #1944 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2004 Location: Sydney, Australia Posts: 593 | Got my m3 mirrors and side skirts painted | | | 01-27-2012, 06:08 AM | #1945 | Member Join Date: Dec 2011 Location: Helsinki Posts: 44 | Avusblau?? Started installing the mirrors tonight. Got most of it done. Had to take off the interior trim cause the new screws use an allen key. Noticed a few clips on the trim had come off. Had to reglue about 7 in total. Should be dry tomorrow and with a bit more light, I'll see if the trim needs replacing again. Once trim is back on, plan is to figure out how to installed the side skirts. Will see if I can take some pics after that | | | 01-28-2012, 04:07 AM | #1949 | Member Join Date: Dec 2011 Location: Helsinki Posts: 44 | Boston Green Oh well, must be the lighting. It looks blue-ish. I just put an order thru for m3 mirrors. Site says they come primed so I hope I don't have to sand much. Side skirts are not a big deal. They just "click" in. Well, at least mine do. I had them painted this summer and replaced the black rubber thingy that runs along them as well. Yes, please post some pics I wanna see the mirrors. | | | 01-28-2012, 04:15 AM | #1950 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2011 Location: Michigan Posts: 183 | Making progress, doing all the things I have read you guys telling people as I get ready to put this motor in. Plastic water pipes, oil filter gasket and o ring, new thermostat, motor mounts. Beware though, anyone who buys a duralast clutch kit from autozone the parts are nice quality but the pilot bearing is the wrong size. I fought with trying to put the motor on for over an hour before gave up and pulled the clutch off. Put an old pilot on top of the one from the kit and the new one has quite a bit smaller inner diameter. | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 2 (0 members and 2 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
