Of the people who have put the lip on did you use a regular MKIII lip or a VR6 lip? Ive got a guy willing to ship one to me but I dont want to buy it if it is the wrong lip. __________________ "Drive Fast and Take Chances" | | | 06-25-2007, 08:34 PM | #19 | Member Join Date: Nov 2005 Location: Shediac, N.B. I'm not 100% positive on this though, you could always check on vwvortex.com __________________ 1995 Canadian Spec Schwarz II Ti Base Model.... 5spd, Untinted Windows, Bilstein Sports, Bav Auto Springs, E36 Sport Wheels, 225/50 Fuzion HRi's, MK3 Jetta VR6 Front Lip, Cosmos Racing Short ram intake, Luk Clutch kit, Apexcone projectors, DDM 6000K HID, Shortened shift knob, Pioneer stereo, Autopage Alarm | | | 09-27-2007, 04:37 PM | #20 | Junior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: South Florida Posts: 16 | nice....wonder how it would look painted?? | | | 09-27-2007, 08:19 PM | #21 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2006 Location: Southern California Posts: 208 | Quote: Originally Posted by SDKmann Ok, so Ill ask again. Ive got a guy willing to ship one to me but I dont want to buy it if it is the wrong lip. | That red ti is mine The front lip I'm using is from any US MKIII Golf or Jetta - including VR6 models. In order to get the longer lip you will need to order a Euro MKIII VR6 lip. There are 2 versions of the euro VR6 lip. Italian knock offs for $70 that break really easy and the stronger OEM ones are about $120. I suggest the US lip - its way cheaper ($20 or so used), can take a beating, and looks better IMO. Most VW drivers swap the US lip for the euro VR6 one, so it's fairly easy to get a used US one. I have had mine on for over a year now and it's held up very well. I run H&R coilovers and my car is very low - even without the VW lip. If I can find a nice set of 16" style 42 wheels I'll crank my coils even lower | | | 09-28-2007, 02:23 AM | #22 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: SoCal Posts: 305 | The clips are in the same spot on the vr lip and the stock lip. They are also the exact same size left to right, the vr lip is about 1" lower than stock. I had a vr euro lip on my MKIII is looks much better than stock. | | | 09-28-2007, 02:37 AM | #23 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: SoCal Posts: 305 | For those that want a real Euro VR lip I highly suggest Pottermans. I ordered 90% of my VW parts from them, great customer service.
