Anyone know where i can find one? or a set or something. Will aftermarket ones fit? | | | 07-11-2009, 06:30 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | aftermarket ones will fit but you need them in a 4T size which makes them hard to find, there are write-ups in the knowledge base on installing oversized speakers in the stock locations though | | | 07-26-2009, 11:10 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2005 Location: Florida Posts: 178 | Quote: Originally Posted by pavlo1994 I just bought a 1997 bmw 318ti and the rear right speaker is working but making noise. I actually think it's both because they both sound like **** lol. Where can i find some good 4T speakers that will sound real nice and handle the wattage of a nice 50w or 55w cd reciever? All is good with the 318ti besides the stock sound system it is terrible...My old dodge avenger had better speakers/sound. | | | 08-14-2009, 03:41 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2008 Location: Raleigh/Charlotte, NC Posts: 1,233 | just about anything can handle a "50w" cd player. Because That thing isn't pumping out crap. You would need a decent amp to max out anything but a bargain basement speaker. __________________ -Jeff | | | 08-14-2009, 03:43 PM | #8 | Junior Member Join Date: Aug 2009 Location: ROC, NY Posts: 7 | 4T speakers Can't find em anywhere really, could only find factory for $140 which is pretty insane.. While clicking around on ebay I found some rear 6x9 adapters. Anyone that's used these before and can tell me how it worked out? | | | 08-14-2009, 03:59 PM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: Oxford, Ohio Posts: 868 | Check out this link: http://www.318ti.org/forum/showthread.php?t=21708 There are better options than stock speakers or 4" Also, there is a 5 1/4" adapter plate available if you check ebay. | | | 08-14-2009, 04:18 PM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Maryland, USA Posts: 678 | I was able to mount 4x6s I had from my old car in place of the bottom rear speaker (I gave/sold my tweeters to Steve). Was easy to do and quite effectively held into place just using zip ties. __________________ BostonGreen 97' w/ DASC & Technique Stage 1 software M3 front bumper. BavAuto Springs.
