Default Gas Mileage?

What kind of gas mileage do you get in your ti?

How does it vary from city to highway driving?

Does the M44 get better or worse than the M42?

Lastly, what were the EPA's original mileage ratings for the ti?

Thanks to all...

I typically get high 20's, it really depends on how "spirited" my driving is. I live 16miles from my office and it is almost completely city driving. There are a couple of stretches of highway but they are pretty short.

My best tank (driving very conservatively and primarily freeway) was just shy of 32mpg. But mid to upper 20's is common.

I average about 28 or so mpg on mostly highway but when I get off I tend to get excited so that's why my average isn't more. The original window sticker for my car says something like 25 city and i know it's 32 highway. I have the m44 in my 97

Yeah, that's not good. Tires inflated properly? Clean air filter? Old O2 sensor?

'95 with 118k miles manual trans.

I used to get about 30mpg. Did a 3.73 lsd swap and am at about 26-27 now. Rob 19-20 sounds pretty low even if you're hammering on it all day. 16 is WAAAAY low. I'd check into some serious maintenance. Plugs, wires, check everything.

Well I know you all use funny little gallons over there, but it still sounds kinda low to me, I get around 36mpg......imperial of course!

I think that works out to about 30 in cowboy gallons........

Best regards David

Thumbs up

Guess I ought to reply to my own post: I've been getting 29 MPG in combined street/highway driving, but not too much bumper to bumper idle time. Pretty good considering the weight of the car, I'd say...

I used to get just about 400 miles on full tank on my '97 active, stick, 17"wheels, but lately it has dropped to a mere 325 or so.
I have new plugs, O2 sensor, tires and belts, all in the last 6 months.
So the milage should have been better now.
My work is only 7 miles one way and most of it is freeway.

i used to get high 20's 2 years ago...

i had the inspection II last summer...so air filter/plugs/o2 sensor and many other items were changed out, but my mileage still didnt get better
