Going to try to get the tires off the wheels today. Hopefully going to use a buddies truck to break the bead. __________________ ***Derek*** ^^Lola^^ Pioneer radio/ Pioneer 6-Disk CD Changer/ JBL 601.1 Grand Touring Amplifier/ Bilstein Sport shocks/ Bilstein e36sedan springs/ Green LED Courtesy Lights Accident Counter: 3... | | | 11-12-2012, 04:47 AM | #3 | Junior Member Join Date: Aug 2009 Location: Virginia USA Posts: 8 | Look like real M contours to me | | | 11-12-2012, 05:09 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2009 Location: Ft Defiance, AZ Posts: 686 | they look like the italian made reps, good quality wheels though. if you are looking to flip them i may be interested when the time comes __________________ 1999 BMW 318ti 2005 MINI Cooper S | | | 11-12-2012, 06:57 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2010 Location: Scranton/Wilkes-barre area PA Posts: 454 | Yep pretty sure they are italian reps. And aside from finish damage the rims are beautiful. __________________ ***Derek*** ^^Lola^^ Pioneer radio/ Pioneer 6-Disk CD Changer/ JBL 601.1 Grand Touring Amplifier/ Bilstein Sport shocks/ Bilstein e36sedan springs/ Green LED Courtesy Lights Accident Counter: 3... | | | 11-17-2012, 10:09 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2010 Location: Scranton/Wilkes-barre area PA Posts: 454 | Im home from school for the week so my plan is to make some progress on these. If you need to fill any imperfections...may I suggest the Bumper Repair Kit from Autozone. It's a 2-stage epoxy kit that costs 7 or 8 bucks. it has worked well for me. apply and let dry for 2-3 days prior to sanding. The sh!t is as hard as nails and easy to apply. Also, light coats of the stuff...any excess epoxy is more work to remove/sand. __________________ Sean 1995 Active | | | 11-19-2012, 04:24 AM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2009 Location: Miami, FL Posts: 874 | What paint stripper you using I tried the aircraft paint remover and didnt work so well __________________ Mods: 325is zender spoiler, 3" carbon fiber antenna, 5% tints rear windows, black out grills, Fogged air intake, Ds1 wheels, Rokkor coilovers, bilstein rear shocks, blacked out tails and home made angel eyes | | | 11-20-2012, 07:56 PM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2010 Location: Scranton/Wilkes-barre area PA Posts: 454 | Im using Klean-strip brand stripper. It works OK. I think ill need maybe five or six applications of it to get all the primer and **** off. I have been using a Scoth-brite scrubby pad to remove the stripper and finish. It has actually removed some of the aluminum pitting too. All the corrosion should come out fairly easy. There doesnt seem to be any damage to the lips, I dont think ill need to fill anything back in. Ill definitely keep that product in mind though, Sean! __________________ ***Derek*** ^^Lola^^ Pioneer radio/ Pioneer 6-Disk CD Changer/ JBL 601.1 Grand Touring Amplifier/ Bilstein Sport shocks/ Bilstein e36sedan springs/ Green LED Courtesy Lights Accident Counter: 3... | | | 11-30-2012, 09:06 PM | #11 | Junior Member Join Date: Nov 2012 Location: SE MI Posts: 11 | You've got plenty of work to do!
