Bought the fabric from a fabric store which had a nice selection of colors and shades to choose from. Got very close matches to oem, close enough for me, anyway. | | | 06-21-2016, 07:03 PM | #19 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2013 Location: Seattle Posts: 513 | I was planning on going to a JoAnn's to look for a fabric. Is there a specific "headliner material", or do I bring the original material and try to find a match? It seems it's a light fleece-type material. Is it possible to use other fabrics (cotton prints/perforated pleather)? Trying to match the thickness seems smart, is weight involved as well? | | | 06-21-2016, 08:00 PM | #20 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2012 Location: SF Bay Area Posts: 315 | Quote: Originally Posted by e30rida Anyone tackled this with the headliner mounted? | I would never attempt that with the messy residue from all the cleaning to begin with. Then the over spray from spraying the adhesive. That's just two of the basic reasons not to attempt with the headliner still in place. There are many more functional reasons you need to take it out to accomplish this task. __________________ 01 740iS Cosmos Black 97 318ti Boston Green 99 318ti Titanium Silver 13 X5 3.5XDrive Cosmos Black 97 318ti Alpine White (gone but not forgotten) 88 325iC Schwartz Black (sold) 97 740iL Schwartz Black (sold) 84 633csi Schwartz Black (sold) 96 318ti Alaska Blue (sold) 08 X5 4.8i Titanium Silver (sold) | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
