Default Infinity Basslink Subwoofer plug & play wire harness like Bav Auto sells

The harness plugs into the factory amp, for a plug and play installation of a basslink I subwoofer in the 318ti.

I have one of these installed myself, and its great, no wiring to run to car battery, saves trunk space and is easy to install, so if your ti has a factory amp in the trunk on the left (drivers) side behind the carpet this is for you.

Bavarian autosport sells this kit for $450 and they dont want to sell the harness alone, becuase they know you'll go on ebay to get the subwoofer for $100.

My price is $125 shipped to usa, the cost is very close to that as the bmw connectors and pins are very expensinve and I have no other way to get them other then the dealer. Not to mention the heavy duty, thick guage copper wire.

For $225-$250 you can have the whole sub setup, if you buy the sub yourself on ebay.

For a basslink I subwoofer only, NOT FOR BASSLINK II.

How does this sub perform? I read in another forum if you use this same sub in a BMW with a trunk, it is hardly noticed. But in a ti, it sounds magnificent.

I have one in my ti. Its a little strange. Its not like a normal thump from a normal sub. It kinda sounds like a bass drum, but not in a bad way. It sounds like it should be a stock sub in our cars. I like it and think anyone would. Buy it. lol

its sounds great if wired properly, not the easy way, in other words using the amp wire and sub output rca cables running to the trunk instead of just tapping everything from the amp and using auto turn on and using left and right speakers for sound. Makes a HUGE difference, i originally connected the easy way and didnt like it so i switched, sub has more then enough thump/bass, especially when combined with a nice head unit.

its a nice way to get out of having to install all the wires, but personally, that thing will not be loud. if u are looking for a thumb, you need to be able to draw more power, and the wires going to the rear amp are to small to be able to power a large amp.

nice for the people who arent llooking for that loud bass

by no means is this going to replace a 3 12 inch sub setup with a 1200 watt amp!

just like you say, its for those that want decent bass out of their ti, but dont want it to take up all the trunk space, and dont want to run all the wires. Its a nice small clean setup that looks classy.

in comparason to other 150 watt amp sub setups its pretty damn good. you get more then enough bass out of it, if you want a car that massages you while you drive, and you want to be able to shatter glass windows on the street you drive on, go with something else.

PerformanceIsland,
Are you still making these wire harnesses? I just got a Basslink off of ebay. I have a '98 528 with a standard US sound system. It looks like there is a 12 pin and 26 pin connector on my amp in the trunk. I dont have PM capability.
Thanks

Edit: One week later- Never mind. I just wired it myself. Not too hard really.
