OBC Help...

I know cars with the Active Package were equipped with an OBC, and all other TI's just had a clock.

Now it is my understanding that the OBC's had two buttons one that said "S/R" and the other said "Clock" and the cars equipped with a clock had different buttons.

OK, so here is the problem I have 1999 TI, production date was 8/98. Now the buttons on my (OBC?) say "S/R" and "Clock" so I thought my car car is equipped with the OBC. The only problem is that when I press the "S/R" button nothing happens. On the screen the onlything that is displayed is the time.

Now I figured that I was wrong and I actually had just the clock and not the OBC until the other day I was driving up in the mountains about 3K feet up and the temp dropped to about 35 Degrees at which point an alarm went off and then the screen was displaying the outside temp. So now I am thinking that the car is equipped with an OBC.

Anybody have any idea's?

So if it has an OBC then it's an Acitve Package? This that true?

Thanks!! I guess I should slow down when reading through the manual. I thought the S/R button is used to switch between modes. I went to the car and pressed on the turn signal stock and it switched modes as expected.

Does this mean I have the active package? If so what did the active package include. My car is also a club sport, does that mean that I have a sport package? What options did the spot package include?

Let's get things straight.
The Club Sport was only made in 1995.
OBC was standard on the actives but that did not mean you could not buy it as an option.

I had a 1998 Sport with OBC and cruise control as options.

In 1995 there was the Club Sport and Sport. Suspension I believe was the same. In 96 the Sport looked like the 95 Club Sport sans the M3 mirrors.

My car was made in 8/98 and is registered as a 1999. It has the "M" Package bumpers, side molding, but regular mirrors. With Cruise Control and the newly found OBC.

As far as I know BMW called it a Club Sport model. (Correct me if I am wrong) as this was the only way that you can buy the car in 1999.

I think the only difference between 98 and 99 is that the 99 has side impact air bags in the doors.

Steven is right. The club sport was only made in 95. All 99s are sports, as that was the only trim level available for that year.

My 98 did not have side air bags although I do think it started sometime in 98.
Your 99 Sport should also have a 3 spoke steering wheel. The only year BMW used this wheel in our cars. The 99 was unique in its own right. Very few were sold.

Us purists consider the 1995 Club Sport to be the only Club Sport manufactured in the US. On the lines as a 2002 isn't a 2002 if it has square tail lights.
