My car is at 126k miles on it. Change oil every 5k with 10w40 semi-synth. Not a problem with it sounds like new. How many miles are on your clock? Just wondering how long these engines last if treated well. I don't go past 3000rpm until engine is warm and only shift occasionly up to 5000rpm, usually shift between 2500 and 4000rpm. | | | 05-18-2008, 11:49 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Minneapolis Posts: 1,587 | 167,200 miles at the moment and works perfectly. I have fixed some minor oil leaks in the past, but it doesn't lose a drop now. I was doing Mobil 0w-40 about every 4,000 to 5,000 miles but am now switching to 7,500 miles. | | | 05-19-2008, 12:39 AM | #3 | Junior Member Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: Easton, MD Posts: 21 | '97 Ti w/ 188,000 miles. That being said- I'm at 297,000 miles, original motor, 5 speed, clutch, exhaust, etc...it has always taken 5w-30 Mobil 1, between 5-6k miles. Oh, and I still drive the hell out of it . | | | 05-20-2008, 08:32 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: Land of the Vikings Posts: 2,700 | on about 296xxx kms right now full insp 2 comming next month or so all orig components as far as i know __________________ Vin Number decode and Retrofit Pdfs Available Free ! Clean fuel injectors, crankcase, and manifold with Seafoam. Still runs great.
