Default has any one done: port polished heads on e36

This just came to me as I watched tv but I remembered years back to when I had my first cars and used to take it to my mechanic an old scottish guy.. any way I took my car to him he was decent and reliable mech at the time.. being young I was always asking about HP gains ...and he would always give me that look and sigh and etc you know how they are... being one of those older stubborn guys he hated anything that was not a bmw.. I rember him standing round snigering with a few of his mechanic colleagues

him: "if people want to see a really fast car port and polish a e36s head.. then you'll see some power"
otherguy: "Yeah It'll rev up like a Ferrari and go like a **** of the shovel"
otherguy2: "oh yes!"
<unintelligible garage rants / chit chat regarding undesirable car makes>

really its like they have some super faith in it..

You can gain 6%-7% increase in flow NOT HP by porting the heads. This work needs to be done by someone who knows exactly what they are doing or the head will be ruined.

Not 100% sure if my head was ported. I know something was done when it got machined for extra flow. Will find out and get back.
