I'm kind of wondering about the quality since they are only $132 Here's the address: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cg...056084&r=0&t=0 ------------------ 95 Base, or Lightweight, as I call it | | | 01-28-2002, 03:48 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Westchester, NY Posts: 234 | I almost bought one but I'm still undecided! They have been selling those for months they were $75 then.... | | | 02-02-2002, 12:34 AM | #3 | Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Posts: 74 | Hojo: I bought one from that guy not too long ago. I bought it unpainted, just primered. They are good to deal with and the spolier is not bad. I have yet to paint and install it, as I am waiting from spring time. If you would like, I can send a pic via email to you. Also, as far as I know, it is just a regular spoiler, nothing "Mtech" about it. I did buy mine on Ebay as well, from the same guy, but I got it for about $80.00. I have noticed on my ebay browsing since, that they have raised the price, but I do not know why. Mine is the exact same one that they have in the pictures. Either way, it's a good buy. Dealer or aftermarket catalogs want $400-$500 for the same thing. Hope that helps. | | | 02-10-2002, 10:03 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Westchester, NY Posts: 234 | Mtech because that was the only car that came from the dealer with it....club sport models (Mpackage)just an FYI | | | 04-11-2002, 01:57 PM | #5 | Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Peachtree City, GA USA Posts: 69 | I bought one. Quality is fair to good. Installation is next to impossible. I have a lot of tools and experience and it took me 3 days to get the damn thing on. I should have known better. ------------------ Dave | | | 04-11-2002, 05:25 PM | #6 | Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Posts: 74 | Dave: Why was it so hard. I am planning on getting mine painted and install it myself this spring. What were the problems you had with installing??? | | | 04-12-2002, 11:53 AM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Westchester, NY Posts: 234 | yeah I think the guy knows he is selling sub-standard stuff.I almost bought one and after talking with him about how "...we work really hard to get the paint right and I really encourage you to get the paint from us..." I was discouraged and cancelled my order. He made it sound like I would be unhappy if I didn't get it painted and "...it may have a blemish or two from being on the shelf..." It just didn't sound promising for my $75 at the time. They are cast into the spoiler about 1 inch from the ends. You must drill through the mounting holes in the top ot the rear hatch; Now you have to drill through 3 layers af steel from underneath but, the only location that you are able to drill in is so far inboard of the top holes it's damn near impossible to attach the mounting bolts to the spoiler. No way in hell would I ever do it again. If I hadn't already had it painted it would have gone back. The M-technic one on the 332ti is a perfect fit and finish and the only recommended one to use. Bargin parts on quality cars do not mix. I should have known. A lesson learned. ------------------ Dave | | | 04-19-2002, 04:04 AM | #9 | Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Toledo, Ohio Posts: 72 | How long did installation take ? I just bought one and I'm a little worried now ... I've got a cinnibar red bmw, you think the paint match will be bad ? They said a paint job would be $70, how much did you pay ? | | | 04-22-2002, 10:51 PM | #10 | Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: northridge, ca, usa Posts: 50 | | | | 04-23-2002, 04:13 AM | #11 | Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Tucson, AZ Posts: 36 | Yes, that is the thruster style wing that I have been talking about on a different thread. Here is the link to a store that sells them new. Posts: 3,156 | Save your pennies and bite the bullet on the correct spoiler. Aftermarket crap is just that: CRAP. The install on the wing in question is horrible. I talked with this vendor as well, to verify they were selling a genuine BMW spoiler, as pictured in the ad. As we all know now, they are not. | | | 03-16-2003, 08:40 AM | #13 | Junior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Posts: 7 | Anybody know anything about this spoiler or seller? He seems to have a pretty good track record, based on feedback, but I am still skeptical. I love the style of this wing, and the same one made by Hamaan (w/LED) is going for almost $500, unpainted. Also, obviously there is some problems with the "easy" self installation of ti wings. Does that go for all of them, or just from that one seller? Thanks. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...407194849&rd=1 __________________ Justin | | | 03-17-2003, 05:22 AM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Maryland, USA Posts: 678 | No idea Justin, never seen that one before.
