And to top it off, they were all scratched with a lot of the paint missing as well. Wtf? Anyway, I need to replace these as I am about to sell the vehicle. If anyone has a couple I would love to buy them. Condition doesnt really matter! Thanks!! | | | 11-15-2014, 08:43 PM | #2 | Junior Member Join Date: Oct 2012 Location: RVA currently, SXSW by Springtime! Posts: 22 | Go to any BMW dealership local to you. They'll put new ones on for free, usually. No need to tell them that you're selling the vehicle. Good luck. | | | 11-17-2014, 06:26 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: Portland Or Posts: 2,666 | Your dealers are way friendlier than the ones out here,, 26 bucks per end.. __________________ Dave - PDX 1995 318ti - Active Black and Tan. 2005 330xi - Mtech 1 - 6spd - Orient Blue/Black | | | 11-17-2014, 10:45 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Bremerhaven, Germany Posts: 977 | I am sorry to hear about your emblems. If Dante had been a motorist, he would have found an appropriate circle of hell to place people who damage cars. It might just very slightly soften the sting to consider that the old and tired adhesive in those emblems might have let the top discs blow off someday (if not for you, then the next guy). That happened to my hood emblem on the Autobahn. I just had another disc come off while I was changing out my summer tires. Can anyone recommend a good adhesive so that it stays on? I have some leftover, one-part MS polymer adhesive I could use. I am sure a two-part urethane would be good if I can find someone with fresh stock. I assume you're asking about an adhesive between the bottom of the emblem and the top of the hood. Those rubber grommets really don't work very well alone. | | | 12-03-2014, 01:16 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Bremerhaven, Germany Posts: 977 | One-part MS polymer adhesive rebonded my wheel emblem just fine. Here a few quick pictures. First the detached emblem: Then the emblem rebonding and rebonded: I am happy you can still get lead shot in Germany.
