Congrats and welcome Lisa. Your dad's a good friend of mine and I know your car will be looked after as if it were one of his own. His Alaska Blue Ti is one of the cleanest in SoCal BTW. Can't wait to meet you and your new toy at our meets!

Thank you, everyone, for your welcome. Your enthusiasm is contagious and I am even more excited about my car. I have been waiting a long time to get my own. You guys are great and I'm glad my dad encouraged me to join this group.
Now, I better get back to work! lol

Welcome !!

It doesn't matter if you are a guy or girl, it's all about your drive to learn about something you are interested in. Cars always got my engine purring (pun intended). Some of my only memories of me and my dad working on my first car. He actually taught me how to wash and wax a car when I was 12 or 13, and I did it almost every weekend.

Now I get my kids out there with me (two boys 8 and 5). Even if they hand me wrenches for a few minutes before they run off doing something else, at least they are out there. My 8 year old brought a tear to my eye when he started telling grandma how a supercharger works. My kids rock.

SO, I'm happy to hear that you and dad will have some time to spend together under the hood of that Ti. It's the time you spend, that really matters, whether you learn how to rebuild an engine or just put gas in it.

Congrats !!

Congrats on teh 318ti and welcome to the forum! We need female owners on this forum to mix it up a bit. You are lucky to have your dad to fix and tech you to work on the ti. Now post up some pics for us to see! That's a requirement for new owners.

Thanks Jess! Actually your Club Sport is, I believe, the first Ti my dad pointed out to me. I waffled too long! I keep trying to talk my dad into giving me his Ti and he can have a new project car. No go. LOL I look forward to meeting you too!

LOL I can relate. I've done that plenty of times. The difference is... I now have a personal interest! I did a day at the driving school at Willow Springs in my boyfriends Z3 Coupe. Now I am ready to do it in MY Bimmer... and I gotta do better than my sweetie right?! And since I'm cylinder challenged, I better know my car inside and out. LOL

I've just realized I am using lots of !! and LOLs. Guess I'm a little giddy here.

Yeah, my dad taught my sister and I at very early ages the proper way of washing the car. "Dont spray the water so hard, you'll bruise the paint!" I swear, Daddy, I remember you saying that!

Anyway... thanks!

Thanks! Yeah, I am lucky. My dad is a good guy and it is so fun seeing him almost more excited than I am over the car. I had a pretty severe anxiety attack buying this car... is it the right one?, what if there is a better one?, can I afford it?, why do I want to drive a stick in what little rush hour traffic I get stuck in?, there was nothing wrong with the car I had! My dad talked me down. LOL
I did put pics in my photo gallery before I even posted. I'll attach them too.

Most girls I know don't crap about their car except that their car color is white. Lots of them don't even know their make and model. It's sad really. But I do have one friend that she almost as interested in cars as me. It's a huge turn-on
