I was wondering if anyone here runs on 18 x 8.5 rims. I wanted to know if you had any problems with them? What tires did you use, what size? Is this wheel too big or wide for my car?? I am about to order this set of rims for my 95 BMW 318i http://www.ocwheelwurx.com/wheels/wheels1.html thx __________________ 1995 BMW 3.18i upcoming modifications: Supersprint Exhaust, CAT delete, Cosmo Racing CAI,DINAN chip, M3 rims | | | 07-01-2005, 08:25 PM | #2 | TRETEN IRGENDEINES ESELS Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Rhode Island Posts: 3,687 | I can't answer your question but those rims are nice i like them alot. It says on there site they fit all e36's so i don't think you would have a problem. __________________ 98 Avus Blue 318 ti Active clear outs all around, stealth turning signals, blue led interior lights, 35% tinted windows,K&N air filter, 12" Kenwood Sub, MTX Thunder Amp,Alpine cd changer, Leatherz Armrest,ACS Pedals/Handbrake/FloorMats & Vitesse Tuning Carbon Fiber B-Pillars/CF Spark Plug Cover, New 16" MSW Typer 14 Rims on Goodyear Triple Treds www.myspace.com/avusblueti | | | 07-01-2005, 09:00 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: tailgating your slow ass Posts: 518 | Well im running 17x8 and i know they aint no 18's but the 8 i think is the widest you can go with out having to modify. It really depends on the offset and inset of the wheels and size of the tires. You can make almost anything fit with some injunity and fender rolling. -Chad | | | 07-02-2005, 12:28 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2004 Location: Tampa Posts: 465 | that's what I have 18 * 8.5 | | | 07-02-2005, 12:31 AM | #6 | aka Stabby Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Mead, CO Posts: 5,336 | Quote: Originally Posted by maurolin that's what I have 18 * 8.5 | what offset/inset, how much do you have it lowered and did you have to mod fenders, put in stops for the steering rack or anything? __________________ 1996 318ti, California package, 267k miles current mods: bilstein sports, bavauto springs, e30 m3 LCABs, solid metal ball joints, bavauto RSMs w/reinforcements, e30 3.73 LSD & halfshafts, supersprint cat-back exhaust, turner rear sway bar reinforcements, IE poly subframe & RTABs + camber/toe kits, powdercoated e36 32x front calipers, sport mirrors, H&R 28mmF/19mmR sway bars, x-brace, auto solutions SSK w/poly bushing upgrade, BMW CD43 head unit, DICE HD Radio w/iPod integration and "stealth" HD antenna, staggered style 68s, orange electronic TPMS, leather arm rest, JT Designs metal undertray acquired and awaiting install: heated seat kit, cali top switch relo, lumbar support kit, park distance control kit, heated washer nozzle kit, m-coupe rear subframe, trailing arms, differential, and halfshafts, m-coupe front/rear brakes with master cylinder, under hood light kit, mud flaps, rear sun blind, auto-dimming rear view mirror, tilt steering wheel retrofit, apexcone 5000K HIDs with 55W ballasts 2002 X5 4.4 Sport Package, 53.5k miles Current Mods: e46 m3 steering wheel | | | 07-03-2005, 04:36 AM | #7 | Member Join Date: Jun 2005 Location: Ohio Posts: 42 | My BMW is a 1995 318i not a TI. Everything on it is stock. Hey maurolin are those OCW wheels? Did you have to modify anything before you put them on your car. the size of the tires I am planing to use are 225/40/18 for the front, and 235/40/18 for the rear. __________________ 1995 BMW 3.18i upcoming modifications: Supersprint Exhaust, CAT delete, Cosmo Racing CAI,DINAN chip, M3 rims | | | 07-04-2005, 05:29 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2004 Location: Tracy, California Posts: 473 | Nice rims Quote: Originally Posted by Woofy318i My BMW is a 1995 318i not a TI. The 18's I tried wouldnt fit bc of the shocks in the front. Atleast thats what I think it was. And in the rear the would have torn my finders all up once I were to hit a pothole. Hopefully you'll have better luck than I had. | | | 08-30-2005, 09:44 PM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2005 Location: England Posts: 177 | Im on 18" m3 rims. no problems wotsoeva. except i need a football pitch to manouvre in cos my turning circle is so huge! | | | 08-30-2005, 09:50 PM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: Great White North! Posts: 701 | 18x8.5 wheels will fit, but since the offset is 35mm you will definitely need to modify the rear arches. No big deal.
