Even if i had an endless supply of money i would not buy it, sounds to cheap and imo that means problems. __________________ 98 Avus Blue 318 ti Active clear outs all around, stealth turning signals, blue led interior lights, 35% tinted windows,K&N air filter, 12" Kenwood Sub, MTX Thunder Amp,Alpine cd changer, Leatherz Armrest,ACS Pedals/Handbrake/FloorMats & Vitesse Tuning Carbon Fiber B-Pillars/CF Spark Plug Cover, New 16" MSW Typer 14 Rims on Goodyear Triple Treds www.myspace.com/avusblueti | | | 08-23-2007, 02:53 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: Pittsburgh, PA Posts: 1,224 | The price sounds cheap or the description? You do know there are ways of ensuring a reserve price without having a reserve price (much cheaper ways). | | | 08-23-2007, 07:08 PM | #4 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | Somethings shady about that car anyway. It's strange that he would waste that much money posting pics of the vin numbers to begin with, not to mention that they all look like they've been tampered with. It jives with realoem as being an M3 sedan, but the fact that all of the stickers are peeling or torn is kinda iffy. And what's up with the rear suspension? Obviously the wheels don't fit, but geez, they don't even fit inside of the wheel arch. Did anyone notice the front strut mounts? Why are they offset like that? Camber kit? Did sedans come with twisty sideskirts? That one didn't. I'm sure it's a fun car to drive, but I wouldn't touch it even if it was free. __________________ 4 MORE YEARS BABY!!! | | | 08-23-2007, 07:38 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2004 Location: SoCal Posts: 549 | I'm pretty sure the rear wheels are like that to deal with the massive hp. No widebody, so the fender roller went to work, but still not wide enough to accommodate the necessary rubber. Not to mention, the rears are 9.5s with what looks to be low offset. Damn. __________________ 318Ti Sport (Gone, but thanks for your years of service) | M3 E30 | 190E-16V | M Coupe E36/8 | | | 08-23-2007, 07:59 PM | #6 | doesn't care about you. Pictures are probably there to show that. He's pointing out the flaws. Quote: Originally Posted by cooljess76 And what's up with the rear suspension? Camber kit? | That's how all m3's are, they have different suspension geometry than a 318ti. Quote: Originally Posted by cooljess76 Did sedans come with twisty sideskirts? That one didn't. In my opinion it's a very nice car, it pains me to read all the negative posts about it. It seems very well done. Pity nobody understands the amount of work, time and money it takes to build a car like this. Just think, you could load up 3 friends and still run 12s... For the record, I have no affiliation with the seller. __________________ '99 Dinan M3 | | | 08-23-2007, 08:36 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2007 Location: Seattle, WA Posts: 402 | Dusten, I agree with you, but there's only so many miles you can put on a 600hp motor that was only intended to do 240 from the factory. I see he did replace a lot of the internals, but not everything. There are still things under extreme stress. That being said, I hope it sells for $35k, just to keep some 18 year old from killing himself/herself. At $12k, a pizza delivery kid could buy it. __________________ 1997 332ti - Don't even ask. 2006 330i - ZPP/ZSP/ZCW/6sp/Nav/BT/H&R Sport 2011 E92 M3 | | | 08-23-2007, 09:08 PM | #8 | doesn't care about you. Spend some time in the FI section of bf.c. 600hp is near the top, but there are daily driven m3s with close to that. Lowering the boost is pretty easy with a boost controller (which is already installed in that car). I hear 400-450hp is perfect for a daily driver that wants to stomp the piss out of any 360 modena on the street. __________________ '99 Dinan M3 | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
