I've had those on my car since last January. __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | 11-10-2009, 05:43 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: Wisconsin Posts: 1,895 | Wow - I went ahead and ordered a pair. I thought about getting 2 sets, but I have a feeling I'll be upgrading to a 32X setup for track days before I'd need the second set. Thanks for posting this! __________________ Josh | | | 11-10-2009, 10:29 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2008 Location: South Central, MN Posts: 1,065 | Just ordered. I'm new to the site, but have been a lurker for a few weeks. I have had my TI for almost two years. It's white with black and grey interior also an M pkg. super clean, almost have to write it twice very well cared for car. All new struts,Hancook tires new radiator tinted windows even a new exhaust system. It had one owner a young girl using it for college, the man that maintained it (German Repair Shop I had done bus. with) bought for an economy car to buzz to their river home. It has been a blast to drive, but here is the reason for my post. It needed brakes,so after a bit of research I found a company in California called speednet motorsports in Garden Grove ( I think ) can confirm . Slotted, drilled rotors all four and pads, two sensors $214.00 out the door ! They are cool. Admittadly,a bit of noise, kinda swish-swish sound when braking. A bit less dust. With drilling I have noticed a slight vibration that didnt seem to exsist before. Oh and the back ones where a bit tricky to get in as the tollerances where tight. I will post some pics, soon. | | | 11-27-2009, 05:42 PM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | Quote: Originally Posted by govenor Greetings... Do little for braking. If the holes are drilled rather than cast, I'd get rid of them or keep a close eye for cracks. And welcome. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 11-27-2009, 06:25 PM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: Portland Or Posts: 2,666 | Drilled and slotted rotors reduce braking power at street speeds, they are only effective with out gassing pads like Hawk Blue or Blacks, Performance Friction, Carbotech etc. at track temperature. With the slots and holes your actually reducing the friction area for your pads to grip. They do not help cooling. Even at the track you really only need one or the other and the slots do all that's needed. Oh well...
