Default Knocking noise when cold and steering shake at high speed

Hi everyone. I've had my ti now for almost 2 years and is my second one. I've been struggling to find the bottom of a fault from the front end of the car. When the car is first driven on a morning there is a knocking noise coming from my O/S/F wheel not the wheel as it happens on another set of wheels. The knock can be felt through the foot well and very slightly through the steering wheel. When driving at 60mph the car drives very well push it on to 70mph the wheel starts to shake (use to be violently) which doesn't really get better or worse if pushed further past 70. These two issues have me pointing towards O/S/F wheel bearing and if not steering rack which is leaking but will have to look further into this. Parts replaced. LCA's Powerflex lollipop bush Gaz shock coilovers 95 m3 strut mounts + plates Front disc's O/S/F was warped badly EBC Red stuff pads Drop links Any help is much appreciated.

Im not a mechanical expert but my thoughts would be warped disc(s), since you changed them i would say wheels, but you checked that also... It could also be badly instaled wheel if it was tightened and not placed correctly so it has some play when driven and starts knocking. I have experienced this with tire change shops (my dad also. and my neighbor), dont know if they have a name in english. Since then im doing it by myself. Guess only thats left is steering asembly/suspension itself... Gues what would be next to check is if front wheels have any unwanted play... And just to make sure try spinning your wheel when you lift front end to make sure your disks are okay.. Had that problem also but on almost negligable scale.
Hope I helped at least in some way

It could be that the hub is damaged due to the warped disc, or due to previous owner(s) fitting the wrong wheels in the past. I think if I get two new hub/wheel bearings it will put a few possible causes out the window.
If not then I'll be on to steering, I forgot to mention I have replaced the inner and outer track rods. I am looking to upgrade the rack to the 067 purple tag rack off the e46 when it gets warmer.

Well 2 new front wheel bearings turned up earlier than expected, so I decided to change them yesterday. I checked the old bearings over but didn't see anything out of the ordinary. After cleaning up and giving the car a wash I then went for a test drive. First thing I noticed was how much smoother, tighter and quieter the front end was, there was no steering shake at 65 onwards.
I still find on some roads the steering wanders off, there is some free play in the steering but next I think I'll do tracking/wheel alignment and then rear trailing arm bushes.

Im glad you solved that shaking problem as soon as possible. I can imagine how you enjoy your ride now, althogh you reminded me that it may not be a bad idea to change wheel bearings on my car since it has 324k km (200+mi).
I just came back from a test drive now, since i changed my thermostat this evening. I cant belive how fast and precise engine heats up now. I think this is the best money i have ever spent literarly

Hah the thermostat was the first thing I replaced when I bought the car as I was fed up with the cold and low mpg.

I still have the low speed knocking which goes after awhile, so I'll remove the undertray and sway bar and see what happens when I finally get time.
