Default Engine Losing Power and Shaking

Hey guys, I'm having trouble with my 99ti. Today out of nowhere my engine lost alot of power, and was sputtering a little. There was a shaking that went throughout the car and seemed consistent with a miss..

What surprised me was that after a few hours of leaving the car off, it drove fine for a few minutes then went back to the shaking and no power. The check engine light is on, and has been on for a while due to an O2 sensor needing to be replaced, but it flashed while i was driving at one point..

Also, yesterday we had a lot of rain and slush, so I'm thinking that may have created some dampness in the electrical system.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated, I'm a poor student at the moment, so garage trips are a little costly, especially since it would cost over 800 bucks just to get to the closest dealer..

Thanks again..
Aaron

use a rag and a tire pressure gauge. when its cold start it and shut off, open schaeder cap on fuel rail and check pressure.
low could mean bad pump, fuel filter clog, or bad fuel regulator.
FP access is under pass rear seat.

A flashing CEL, while engine is running, is a consistent misfire and the DME is telling you there is one and its being recorded. Get the codes read, then go from there. You likely have water or oil in the spark plug gallies or have an issue with Ignition.

Check the simple first, check the main air tube from the air meter to the throttle body.
They are prone to getting small cracks on the bottom side and causes your exact symptom.

I should also mention that a day before the slushy weather my battery randomly died after about 20 minutes parked with no lights or electronics left on. The battery is fairly new. I'm not able to see any cracks around the throttle body either. I'm getting the codes read on Monday, so hopefully that may help..

Use a 3' flexable tube to listen for air leaks around that, and CCVV. Air leak will cause mis.

Alright kids, I got a scanner and here are the results I got.

Code P0301 Cyl 1 Misfire

Fuel sys 1 - CL
Calc Load - 5.4%
ETC - 107 degrees
STFT - was varying between - 0.7 to past 2 or 3
LTFT - 0%
Spark - 25 degrees. I couldnt read my own writing here, and it acually said something like sparkaon or something. i dunno..

IAT - 46
MAF - 1.027
tps - 3.4%
Air Status - OFF
O2S B1S1 (v) - .620
STFT B1 S1 - 5.4 (fluctuating)
O2S B1 S2 - .500
STFT B1 S2 - N/A

The following lights were on solid, - MIS, FUE, CCM, HTR.

The following lights were blinking - CAT, EVA, AIR, O2S

If anyone could decipher any of this in relation to my issue, it would be greatly appreciated. I haven't been driving in a week and it's killing me!

Thanks in advance!

Turns out there was water in the well for spark plug #1. had it taken out and cleaned up and works perfect. Anyone know the best way of getting to the plugs myself in case this happens again? I was under the car and it still looks difficult to access. does my fender have to come off? Or do some other components have to come out?

?? The plugs are right on top of the engine... Under the plastic BMW logo Plate, easy as pie and you have a wrench in the car toolkit...
