Anyone have a set of working rear tweters they are willing to part with? I have the housing that fits over the speaker grills. I need the actual tweeters to put in them.

WOW! You are serious. I thought you were being sarcastic in your first post. If you are truely willing to sell, I'd be very grateful. While you are seeing how these things are removed, do you mind telling me how the pods are installed over the speaker grills? I don't have any holes, now, which I assume I will need to drill. I also assume the tweeters are placed in to the pods using a plate or board of some sort. If you had a digital camera, pics would be helpful. I am retrofitting this into my 330ti. Thank you, thank you, thank you.....

You gotta pull the fabric way out, then theres only two screws holding the top pods on in the corners. The screws are very difficult to work with though. Theres a hole (~1inch) in the middle for the wire/harness (which is about 1/2 inch wide). The tweeter is on a plate which slides into plate in the pod.

I added a pic of the tweeter itself.

2ndbimmer,
Were you able to successfully remove the tweeters? Well, if and when you do, let me know. Thanks

I've got a set in my garage that I don't need (never used by me, came with the car in the boxes they're in). If you are in or are passing through Illinois on rt 136, you can have them.

I would say that I would mail them for money or something, but I would never get around to the post office. Besides, somebody probably took them out for a reason... or never got around to installing them for probably the same reasons that I never get around to the post office.

Anyhow, they are free, and will probably be sitting on that shelf for a long, long time.
