Default Thank you Steven

Today was one of those days that I really appreciated this site. It seems like to day was the start of hunting season for the ti on bimmerforums.com. Its really great that we have a place that we can talk about the ti without getting bashed. Who do all the guys on bimmerforums.com bash the ti? It seems like they only bash the ti too and not the other 318s.

It doesn't need park distance control, and hates decadence. It is musclepacked, yet lightly wound. It lets you feel the asphalt and get you going with the smallest touch of the pedal. It provokes, seduces, and demands to be driven hard. It looks, sounds, and smells like performance.

Let them have their way. The ti was not a failure.
We are just on the bottom of the pecking order. WTF cares anyway?
Not me. Last thing I want is for them to crap over here.

lol it went from Acura to bashing a TI. I think you messed up right there starting that thread. You should have started that thread here instead.

The second is just crazy. They straight out bashed the TI. I dont see anything ugly about the ti at all.

yup, who cares what they say. I bought my tis because I love them. pick your battles, you'll never win this one and it's truely pointless.

The 318ti "failure" is often mentioned when discussing why the 1 Series has not yet reached the U.S. Why not just drop the facts in this quote on them? It's from the March Roundel:
Quote:
Phil Marx replies: Some facts might help put these arguments in perspective. For calendar year 2005, BMW NA sold 3,660 "sport wagons," including both new and old 3 Series, 5 Series, and all-wheel-drive versions of these models, making total wagon sales less than 2% of total BMW car sales of 197,833. By comparison, BMW NA sold 7,238 318ti Compacts in 1996---nearly 7% of 105,761 total sales. 318ti sales slipped to less than 4,000 in 1998, the last full year of sales for this model, but still accounted for 3% of total U.S. BMW car sales. How do you measure success?

Yeah thats why I dont like to post on that forum much anymore, they all say crap, thats why I love it when I post pictures they are like wow that looks good. Let them pay more on gas, let their cars handling suck arse, you know I find it funny when they say TI means trunk impaired meanwhile once you open the hatch we have a bigger trunk then them. All my friends thought the car looked funny when I got my ti, but once I took those same people for a ride they sung a whole new tune.

Well according to Autoweek i think it was. Back when i first got my ti i was at a friends house watching tv and the car program that was on called it a failure. Ever since then my friends call my car a failure to bust my balls.
