Default '98ti For Sale

'98ti Basic For Sale. 182K miles. Daily driver. Mostly highway miles. Owned since May of '02. Solid, smooth, tight. Excellent overall condition for age and miles. Stock except for aftermarket "cat". P0420? light and drooping headliner only problems I'm aware of. Priced at $4500, OBO, to someone that knows and loves ti's. Cold AC. 5spd. Questions to datoy@bellsouth.net.
(Not a pro at this but it is out there if anyone is interested. Thanks for looking.)

Alot of looks. What would make this little gem move? Would like to use what I get out of the '98 as a down for a newer 3 series or maybe, just maybe a 128. Any assistance would be appreciated.

The catalytic converters were an issue on the '98s, probably why you have an aftermarket cat. There was an "extended warranty" that lasted until 10 years after the build date of the car.

If it is throwing the P0420 code it will not pass emissions in a lot of states and that means that if someone were to buy it they would need to sink another ~$1500 into it if they wanted to get an OEM cat from BMW to pass emissions.

Also, 182k is a lot of miles and that might be putting some people off. Do you have all the service records? It would be good to say that if you do have them.

Good luck with the sale!

Majority of service by "SELF". Other service from BMW shop outside Louisville. Been a great car requiring little other than standard oil, air, gas filters.
Residence - Danville.

Update: The downsize bug bit (unemployed). A new 128 will have to wait. Now just need to sell a vehicle. Had some time so did a few things to my ti; replaced valve cover gasket, replaced rivets with bolts on secondary air pump, replaced after cat 02 sensor, added spacer to 02 sensor. The spacer and new 02 sensor have kept the CEL off for over 50 miles and counting. Last three fill ups have been 33+, 33+ & 34+ mpg. Any serious offers will be considered.
