Default Nick G stage 3 boot for 3" MAF

Hi guys,

What have you found that works to adapt the M3 MAF to the 318 ASC for the Nick G stage 3 setup?

Thanks,
Sheridan

I believe NickG sells the boots.

I didn't end up getting the NickG tuning, I just cranked up the fuel pressure, got a bigger pulley and ran lots of datalogging with a wideband.

I just couldn't justify sending $1000 for ~10+hp.

I'm almost positive that NickG sells silicon boots.

Hum, I must be getting a good deal then :-) of course I already have his Stage I...

So, you aren't worried about the injector duty cycle, the extra wear on the fuel pump or incorrect metering of the in coming air? I figured with 100k miles I'll be needing new injectors soon since I've been boosted for 87k miles already. Subtract the cost of injectors and the Stage III upgrade isn't that bad.

With 149k miles on the motor now I don't know that it's worth putting the extra $ into it. Prices on m52 motors has dropped to the point that it would cost as much to swap in a m52(minus resale on the DASC) as to get the software.

So you've noticed that too? I've seen complete M3 wrecks go for +/- $2000.

Why not throw some lead weights up front and pretend you have a "big" six up there :-P I have no interest in ruining the balance of the ti by putting a 6 in it, sorry.

This is not totally right. By putting in an aluminum block M52B28 you ruin nothing, but yes you ruin the balance with the M50.

HAHAHA....

In all honesty, I'd likely swap in a turbo Nissan motor over an I6.

Ohhhh, the idea of swapping in a Nissan motor really pisses people off...

So where do you think you are going to put those extra 2 cylinders? My guess is in front of the 4 already in there :-) Aluminum block or not, the additional cylinders, water pump etc are now farther forward. As the ti sits stock it's nearly a mid engine car !!!

Back on topic, basicly you use a 3" silicone tube 3-4" long...yep, that simple.

Dusten, I still haven't sorted out the fueling issue with the Nick G Stage III as I'm supposed to remove the D/A AFPR. At this point it appears that the stock FPR isn't up to snuff. I'm going to do some more testing and I may have to replace it so I can get the car to 100% Nick's Stage III. Any who, the car is running VERY strong. I'm not done with the upgrade and I highly recommend doing it !

You are not right at all, The 323ti is 6cyl and still has 50/50 weight distribution.

Good point but you are missing my point.

Still 50/50 maybe but the weight is over the (past the) front end. Also, they moved the battery from behind the front struts to rearward of the rear struts. 50/50 yes but the weight is in the wrong places. Why not try and keep the weight towards the center of the car so rotation is easier without snap oversteer? Moving the weight farther from the center of rotation doesn't help the car stay as neutral as it is.
