Default check engine light on, problems starting now?

okay. as everyone might know, i was having random check engine problems. i had a few differnt codes come up, nothing point at jsut one thing. sometimes the check engine light will just turn off while i am driving, and it might not turn on for another 40 - 80 miles. anyway, i just started having problems starting my car. it doesnt always do it, but yesterday, when i was trying to start it, it made a funny sound.

now, i have a new battery, and it didnt sound electrical related anyway.
i also have a manual car.

when i turn the key, it kind of sounds like its humming. maybe the pistons are moving, but its like its not getting fuel or something. i dont know, i never heard it before. i can normally get it to start if i keep trying to start it..

it doenst give me any problems while im driving it, but it just started to give me problems starting.. any ideas what it is??

Autozone/pepboys and most other major chain stores will give you an OBD I or II read out of what is in the cars stored memory. They will not reset the light but you can purchase an Actron OBD reader while at the store to reset the light.

You can rent a code scaner from autozone for like $165. They will give you back the full amount as soon as you return it.

like i said before, reading the codes wont mean anything.

i read all the codes over the last few weeks. well, they range from non-working fuel injectors (that work fine) to my airbags, (which didn't have any problems) also 2 unknown ones that were just reset. basically, my car gives random codes, but i don't know if it will lead to one major problem, or if the chimpmunk that lived ontop of my fuse box and in my airbox was the problem.. everyone just says they have no idea. also, the owner before me had the same problem with constantly fixing his car for no reason ( i am thinking he had the random CEL lights) basicly.. he put thousands into fixing it up, then he couldn't pay it off anymore, and i took over payments.

Default intake problems?

i keep getting CEL, and i am just going to start replacing everything. anyway, i have a picture, and i need alittle help with it.

i need part 13711433978 its cirlced in RED, and it has 2 large cracks in it. (it is now coverd in duct tape) is there a palce i can buy a new part for it? i looked all over. is there a sealer i can use to fix it? also, the 2 lines in green are chewed apart,,, can i buy new ones? cheap?
i have the diagram for my entire intake.. is there anything i should check out or clean?

also, the area in blue was the area a rat or something lived in.. also, i had one living in my air box!!! i cleaned it out, but could that have effected anything major? all the padding on the walls was dry-rotted on the non-motor side of the filter and removed.

i am going to go out and buy new wires and sparkplugs.. where is a good place to get them? just offline? what other things should i replace?

what is the best way to clean your fuel injectors, without running a risk of wrecking them.. i heard before that adding the cleaner in your fuel can cause more problems as the junk will go deeper into your engine...

You can have your injectors cleaned ultrasonically or have them rebuilt by a shope that does injectors. I have used http://www.witchhunter.com/injectorserv1.php4

They offered quick turn around and were reputable. I wasn't in a major rush as I used spares and then swapped them in when they came back. Your intake boot you can get from most any bigger foreign parts house.

I like www.bmaparts.com plug in code 1556 or 1553 and save 10%.
