How do I replace a burnt bulb for the license plate? I can't find a way to take out the clear plastic plate. Has anybody done this? Thanks! __________________ 1989 E30 325is 5s Coupe Zinnoberrot 1991 E30 325i Auto Coupe Schwartz 1991 E30 325is 5s Coupe Hellrot 1995 318ti E36 Alpine White III DASC (RIP) 1996 328i 4Dr Artic Silver (RIP) 1999 M3 Estoril Blue Metallic RMS Vortech SC 2001 325i E46 Alpine White - Sports Package (SOLD) 2005 E46 M3 Coupe SMG | | | 09-21-2010, 08:11 PM | #2 | Junior Member Join Date: Aug 2010 Location: TX Posts: 10 | Can someone please shed some light on this procedure, as I find myself having the same dilemna and do not want to overcomplicate things if not necessary. Can someone also the right bulb part number for 318ti 1995, as was not clear on Pelican Parts.com. I assume that would allow that entire strip to come off, then you replace the bulbs from inside there. This is the diagram at realoem.com for my car. Just to be safe, put in the serial number for your car. Or you can just remove the bulbs and take them with you to your local auto parts store. __________________ Real men know how to SEARCH! Remove 4 screws holding bar that looks like lenses are mounted in but they are not. Then pop out lenses and you can access bulb inside. | | | 09-22-2010, 06:02 AM | #5 | Junior Member Join Date: Aug 2010 Location: TX Posts: 10 | Both your instructions worked like a charm. And DDM did replace them for free more than once. But I live nearby, so that is a plus for me. Speak with Joe. Also now Ive noticed that they are only $7.50 vs 10$ when I bought them. Totally worth it! Bright white and looks killer! oops, just noticed. Along with the price change so did the warranty. 1yr. only. __________________ 1998'SportR.I.P. 1995 Sport AlpineIII Last edited by Mr. Crow; 09-23-2010 at 05:55 PM. | | | 09-23-2010, 05:52 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2009 Location: Long Beach, SoCal Posts: 373 | Quote: Originally Posted by 318ti_pt on a 95 do they do some error msg? | There is no error msg, that I have encountered. __________________ 1998'SportR.I.P. 1995 Sport AlpineIII | | | 09-23-2010, 11:10 PM | #9 | Junior Member Join Date: Aug 2010 Location: TX Posts: 10 | Mr. Crow, can you please confirm whether the LED bulb you mention will fit as replacement bulb as the original OEM or Sylvania 6418 bulb is 35mm in length and after reviewing the DDM link, theirs comes in 36mm or 39mm.
