Default POWERCHIPS

I don't know if anyone has checked this out yet:
GMP is offering $290.00 for ECU flash that claims HP/Torque gains of up to 12hp/ and 12 lbs ft.
It seems a better deal than what Dinan is offering.

Contact Danny at GMP Performance:
704 525 0941 ext.225

You can tell him that Fariz (Freeze) at Racing Dynamics referred you.

the only thing that put me off is that he sells through ebay. i suppose if your on the obd 2, you would have to go to a powerchips dealer to get it done so it must be alright, but i could'nt buy a chip through ebay (i'm on obd 1) and have the guy mail it to me, dodgy.

Pay with a credit card and you get the same protection. For the money you should buy a conforti chip for $249 for M42 cars.

so its 12/12 for 249 dollars? You think they can get maybe 20/20 for about 550-600 dollars?

It doesn't need park distance control, and hates decadence. It is musclepacked, yet lightly wound. It lets you feel the asphalt and get you going with the smallest touch of the pedal. It provokes, seduces, and demands to be driven hard. It looks, sounds, and smells like performance.

Software upgrades on stock internals can only get you so far.

If you want 20/20 for a lil more, you'll have to get some work done (internals, cams, headwork, intake, exhaust).

Software has to be tuned specifically to the motor's build type.

By then, you might as well go standalone.

No. It's not a matter of money. It is a matter of what the engine is capable of.. The only way these chips gain an advantage is setting up the car to run on higher octane fuel and not having to be as worried about emissions as the manufacturer is. I even doubt they can get 12HP extra out of an M44 OBD2 engine.

12 seems to be pretty standard for the M42 though. I bought my conforti chip from Andy and he said his m42 was at 125 or 129RWHP with a fogged airbox, exhaust, and the chip. I think our cars are 109 stock at the rear wheels.

Powerchips seems to be the main brand in the UK. I wouldn't be worried about them selling on ebay. For a lot of vendors that is the easiest way to get onto the internet. I would avoid the 35$ ebay special ECU chips though.
