According to the Wikipedia page on the BMW Compact: Quote: "During 1993/4, BMW built several prototype 5-door compacts, which looked outwardly even more similar to the saloon right back to the C-pillar. However, following the initially disappointing sales response to the Compact (in comparison to the Saloon & Coupe models) BMW decided not to offer a 5-door variant. The prototypes were stripped and the bodyshells disposed of." | Do any pics of these mythical beasts exist online anywhere? Would love to see one. For that matter I think there is room in the BMW lineup for the 3-series compact to exist alongside the 1er. How can we petition BMW to bring back the ti?? | | | 07-03-2010, 02:20 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | Quote: Originally Posted by vsonix How can we petition BMW to bring back the ti?? | by getting a couple million people who can actually afford to buy one to ask, BMW isn't interested in making something they don't think they can sell, which is why they're going to stop selling tourings in the US and probably why they just scrapped all the 5-door concept cars I'd really like to see that car too, can't seem to find anything on Google though | | | 07-04-2010, 02:10 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2010 Location: Southwest England Posts: 379 | to me, that just proves the US has a strange attitude to cars :lol No Tourings??? build more SUVs?? I think there is a small group of people that like hatchbacks and tourings, myself included. I wish I had a touring model. | | | 07-14-2010, 01:14 AM | #7 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | If you count the hood, hatch, driver/passenger and fuel door, we all have 5 door compacts | | | 07-14-2010, 01:25 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2005 Location: PA Posts: 1,906 | For some odd reason I really like the ford flex....but I love the ti and tourings __________________ | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Thread Tools | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
