Default stuck in third

I am sure there is some thread here...call me lazy but I know the knowledge of some of you guys is just itching to respond...I was down shifting today and now the car is stuck in third gear...limped home over 60 miles...linkage issue??

by the sounds of it... the throwout bearing (release bearing) is toasted and/or seized.

was there any indication something was wrong? like a "whirring" noise or anything?

Mine did the same thing, but I had plenty of warning.

Does your shifter flop around, or is it stuck in the 3rd gear position?
